Senior Applications Architects act as the technical lead on projects. Part of
the core team of a project (along with the Client Services Lead and Creative
Lead). Responsible for all technical specifications drafted on a project, and
oversees development of the engineering components of the application during
the development phase of projects.
Architects must have a broad range of technical knowledge, and should feel
comfortable designing all aspects of web based applications. Architects work
with staff engineers who specialize in certain areas (such as SQL or
application servers) to design applications, and then oversee the
development development process, making sure the specifications are properly
* 5+ years experience in software development
* 3+ years experience in developing backend solutions for web sites
(CGI, NSAPI/ISAPI, Servlets, or application servers)
* 2+ years of Java development experience
* Experience leading groups of developers
* Experience working with clients to define application specifications
* Experience developing object models
* Excellent knowledege of RDBMSs, SQL, and JDBC
* Functioning as technical lead on web application projects
* Developing detailed specifications for projects
* Developing test plans and managing their execution
* Working with engineers to develop object model and database schemas
* Managing engineers on the project, and overseeing development
