Hi all,

Just bought the Head First Design Patterns book and it seems really good but I just can't stop staring at the front cover. Anyone know who the pretty woman on the front page is?

you know, someone said: "Never Judge a Book by its Cover".
this book, you'll find out, is much better than the girl in the cover.

It would be great to say that we know who she is, but we don't. It's fairly easy to find other companies who have used this same piece of "stock" photography. And, sometimes, it's lead to some pretty funny results...

Yeah. One of the girls you had in your competition for HFOO (my favorite, actually) is now aggressively used by Wal-Mart germany.

Hey Ilja,

If you have a link to the almost-hf-girl in action at Walmart Germany I'd love to see it - when I googled all I got was a bunch of stories about how Walmart failed in Germany

Thanks,

Bert

As far as I remember Ilja gave his final vote for A .

BTW, I never saw one of the girls over here in Germany in one of the Walmart shops. Don't know who Ilja saw .

Well, the one in Karlsruhe, Durlach was full of F. The slogan was something like "clever shopping"...
