I want to take 486.
I am confused about what learning approach to use.
I have UML Distilled, and am completely new to the topic, but do have a formal background in SSADM.
Should I get any of the multimedia packages, i.e. the videos or Complete UML Training Course. I am seeing many critical comments so am guarded against shelling out for them if just a book is good enough.
I don't learn well from books though and prefer a traditional teacher/lecture environment, but no way I will pay for that training. Any good quality multimedia learning suggestions would be very welcome.
many thanks in advance,
John

PS:
If you refer to any educational materials in your reply, please try and state full title, author and preferably the ISBN.
I think I may order the Larman Applying UML and Patterns video. Comments please.
NB: signature changes

About the video course: Your Mileage May Vary.
The video discussion is rather dry but it gave me the extra push to actually read the chapter(s) being discussed. Without it, I doubt I would have had the motivation to go through the entire book.
Others have voiced different opinions though. Do a search for "video" in this forum.
