Hi,
It sounds like prototype pattern is used in java in the form of Cloneable interface and clone method. Am I correct?
Thanks,
Aruna.

Correct. The Java clone() method is an example of the Prototype design pattern.
In the Gang of 4 book they say "Prototype - Specifythe kinds of objects to create using a prototypical instance, and create new objects by copying this prototype."
