Does any one know of a free tool that can generate UML sequence diagrams from existing code? I have some poorly written code that I trying to analyze.
Thanks,

Given the general case, I'd say that it would be impossible.

Please correct me, if im wrong.

Hi,
ArgoUML cannot do this. Right now you cannot even draw sequence diagrams in ArgoUML (disabled in last version).
Maybe you can have a look at Fujaba, a free UML tool providing a special version for reverse engineering. See http://wwwcs.upb.de/cs/fujaba/projects/reengineering/index.html
I am interested in knowing your conclusion... would be great to infer sequence diagrams from code

Visual Paradigm professional/standard version has the ability to do some reverse engineering cleanly. Even this tool can not display sequence diagrams.

I use togetherJ and I can do this with that as well. So far, I haven't seen a tool elegant enough to actually draw sequence diagrams for an entire package. TogetherJ can draw sequence diagrams at the class level.
