Package does not vary on Visa type.....It depends on your skills and experience.

L1 or H1 depends which one your company wants to go for...You can not decide at your own ...unless company has given you option....

The basic differnce between H1 and L1 is that you can change employer on H1 but not on L1......

If you are on L1 and want to change employer you have to get fresh H1.

Also you have to look for quota limit for H1 whether that's available or not.
