Hi,

I am working on web based application.

The browser's "back" button functionality is not working in some cases.

Scenario:
1. Go to 'Saved Search Criteria' page.It contains a select box and details section.
2. Select criteria 's1' from the select box- all details of s1 would be displayed.
3. select the option 's2' from select box, it will load the details of 's2'.
4. Click on back button, details of s2 are shown and not of s1.

I checked the entries under back button. They were just 2(which is correct).Also, even after clicking back button multiple times, the details were not updated.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
Pratik

Hi,

I don't know much about JSF and want to learn it.

From What I have gathered after reading the below posts, JSF is better than Struts.

Are there any scenarios which JSF can't support and Struts can?

Also, can JSF and AJAX be combined?

Thanks.

Hi,

I want to learn AJAX and use it in my project.

My project is based in java. As the server side code is in PHP and I don't know PHP, can this book help me understand the complete server-client cycle?

Thanks in advance.

What are the pre-requisites for reading this book?

I have a knowledge of design patterns. Will that suffice?

Also, How does your book differ from a conventional design pattern book?

Thanks,
Pratik

Hi,

I am getting "Object doesn't support this property or method" error sporadically.

Scenario - A screen(a.html) has tabs(done using iframes) in it. When the user clicks on menu, The parent screen has javascript to hide the combo boxes present in the selected tab window. This is done by calling child iframe's method from parent screen.

The show/hide logic on menu out/ menu click is managed through these functions in parent screen -

function showDiv()
{
window.frames[currentPanel].showDiv();
}

function hideDiv()
{
window.frames[currentPanel].hideDiv();
}

Here, currentPanel contains the visible tab's name. Also, showDiv() and hideDiv() methods are present in jsp of each tab.

The javascript error comes on the line in bold.

Any ideas?
