Hi Jim,

Thanks for the explanation.

My object is a fingerprint template. I just learned that it can't be serialized because it is a set of mathematical equations. The fingerpitn kinda gets encrypted resulting in the fingerprint template. And it needs to be saved into a blob. So far, I have found no way of saving an object into a blob without serializing it, except maybe for xtream which i learned here, and i am still exploring it.

hi,

can anyone help me with xtream?
i read their 2 minute tutorial and its different from what i have.
i dont have a class, and i just implement an interface.
that interface produces a template object which i have to save into a Blob in Oracle. i need to serialize that object for it be saved into oracle.

Hello,

I have developed a web application.
Whenever I do queries though on past transactions and show certain transactions for a day, it gets slow. I know the pc being used not that fast but is there a way to improve its response time? I am using oracle 9i as its database and retrieving records from it gets slow. in a day, there are at least 1000 records.

i hope someone can help me with this and i would really appreciate the help.
Thanks

Hello,

I am having trouble saving objects into a blob.
I get the NotSerializableException.
From what I have gathered, the object I am trying to save cannot be serialized. I also cannot serialize it since it is an automatically generated object from an SDK i have no control over. What I am trying to do is find a workaround on how to save an object into a blob without serializing it. Can someone help me with this please?

Thank you

Hello Ben.

Sorry for the late reply, I got sick.
Anyway, I am using Tomcat 4.1 deployed on Linux.
Since I was not able to find a solution that day, I just restarted the server.
But it might still recur in the future

I have tried using the file upload.
try javazoom
its easy to deploy and understand.

I do have a question though.
How do i delete a file upon uploading?
Or maybe just move the file instead of copying it when uploading?

Thank you Bear.

I guess I will just change the functionality of the program and just have the user upload the files to the server. Thank you.

Hello Badri.
The file is from the scanner which downloads it to a specific path on the local.
From the local, I then look at that specific path. Even if I upload the file, I would still have to look at the specific path in the local, but it cannot see or read the local drives.
