The edition which I am trying to purchase from amazon is-- 1st edition (October 17, 2003). Is this the latest edition or are there any editions published after 2003. Please help me to get the correct(i.e latest)RMH book.

I am new to this all webservices stuff, and I need a good book with examples to start learn webservices. In the certifications forum of webservices, I came to know that RMH book is the one they use it to get certified, but I don't want a book that presents material in examination point of view.It would be more helpful to me, if I have some code samples as I learn. Please suggest a good book...

If a final instance variable is not initialized, does it take the default value?
I am getting a compiler error when i am trying to execute the following code:

class FinalTest { final int i; public void someCode() { System.out.println("the value of i is " + i); } public static void main(String[] args) { FinalTest f = new FinalTest(); f.someCode(); } }


What i thought is-- the variable i will be printed as '0', the default value for int.
