There is no Query to display 10 records at a time..
Fetch all records...

and manage the 10 records...per ..page in JSP page...

The SEssion Tracking can be Recognized bt the client Browser
whrn use session.getSession() ..rite../ getValue()
The Only Way i see ..for u r problem is
when ever the uaser first logs in
as soon as he/she logs in store the information about the
the user in the data base...
when ever he/.she logs in check the data base ...

when he/she logs out ..delete the record of the user from the database..
this ensures the he/she logs in only one time..

havd buttons...NEXt..PREVIOUS
upon pressinf NEXT..u have 2 go to DB
Skip 20 records...
Display from 21 record...
PREvipus...also same thind...
Have 2 parameters for the buttons..
Startingrecord & ending records
and manage it...

If u r Writing the EJB..

then u have to set the TRASCATION TYPE..ASin VB..

Just Check for u r list item
Each item have "value".
then uopn clickin the option go the next servet check the
Value with request.getParamter("listoption");
then excute u r query upon this value...
