I am getting a strange error while performing load test on my application.
From the logs, it seems at some point DB2 is refusing to give away any more connections to WebSphere.
Would you be kind enough to provide some insight in this issue? Snippets of the log is posted below.

I apologize, the intention was to know - are they equivalent/similar? If not, I understand we cannot compare apples to oranges.
I cannot agree more on knowledge being the power, but come on guys - big names do matter in practical world.

Abhijit
Hi,
Could anyone compare the industry acceptances of the SCDJWS 5.0 or IBM SOA exams (669 and 667)? I want to take one of the exams and why not take the more widely accepted one?
Please feel free to jump in and comment.

Regards,
Abhi

is it better to read "Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 - O'Reilly" than "EJB3 In Action"?

I haven't read "EJB3 In Action" end-to-end so won't comment. But the few chapters I went through were very particular and well-explained. I liked that book.
Hi,
Passed SCBCD 5 with 85% on 15-Sep-08.

Studied about 1.5 months for this. books followed are:
  • Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 - O'Reilly
  • EJB 3.0 core spec
  • EJB 3.0 persistence spec
  • EJB 3 in Action (Just a few chapters)

  • Also practised using Enthuware's EJB 5 simulator. While this product is wonderful, one shortcoming I found is that the questions are too repeated. I would still recommend it though.

There were questions on all sections. To mention particularly, Persistence and Security sections were real-brainers.

All the best to all test-takers.

Thanks for the reply. My previous 2 posts are still unanswered - I was starting to assume that only handful of lucky guys get response.

    Hi,
I am preparing for the SCBCD 5 exam. I would like to know which spec to read for this. There is a core spec of 562 pages and a simplified one of 59 pages. Obviously I prefer the simplfied one but is it sufficient?
    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
    Hi,
I was practising using Enthuware's EJB+ v5 suite for SCBCD 5 when the following explanation seemed doubtful to me. Any clarification will be appreciated.
"security-role: These are the logical roles that are available to the application. Since these are application specific, these are specified by the application assembler in the deployment descriptor. Also, since these are provided by the application assembler, the application assembler also has the responsibility of mapping security-role-ref to the security-role. Further, since the application assembler knows the business logic, she also specifies which bean methods can be called by which role using the <method-permission> tags."

Is the bold statement correct? Is the assembler expected to know business logic?

    Hi,
I'm configuring a default EntityListener in my mapping file (snippet given below) but the callback methods in it are not getting invoked.
The Listener class is instantiated alright which I can see from the log.
    I'm using SJSAS 9.1.

    Pls help.

OP, request you to modify the title of the post. The current title is misleading as it gives out an impression that you have some tips to share.
I've tried the O'Reilly book but I found it difficult to understand
"Mastering EJB 3.0" has been a good read; for Persistence alone, I find "Pro EJB 3-Java Persistence API" wonderful.
You guys must be amazing to complete the O'Reilly book.

Thanks MZ. I had also mailed you with this specific requirement. I was in the process of creating the pdf from the online guide and believe me, it really tests your patience. But I feel that one was emerging with a better look-n-feel.
