ERROR [CachedConnectionValve] Application error: Faces Servlet did not complete its transaction

Is because you are hitting another conversation @Begin without ending the old one. @Begin(join=true) will let you join an existing conversaion,
but that is not the default.

"If join is false (the default), invocation of the begin method in the scope
of an existing conversation will cause an exception to be thrown."

JSF
You don't need 2 #'s the 1st # tells it it's a JSF variable, just remove the 2nd one.

You have to extend pattern layout, override the createPatternParser, and create a PatternParser and a PatternConverter. Here is one I have that prints the first letter as you asked, and also prints the first 3 letters of each package level making them smaller as well.

I've noticed that on JDK 1.5 if clean up (GC) occurs (you catch the out of memory exception and then free up the objects in question),( and then allocate another object forcing GC) the next occurrence does not generate another heap dump (I want one each time).

Is there some way to make it do this again and again?

Thanks,

Well hold on a minute. Wouldn't you achieve the same thing by marking the class as final protected instead of private? Then it can't be extended and it can't be accessed. No, not really. The children of the final protected class could still instantiate one. So to me this warning is asking you to change the composition of your code, which may not be what you want.
