Hi,

In my log4j properties i have specified DailyRollingFileAppender in order to rollover 4 log files and the DatePattern that i have specified is '.'yyyy_mm_dd (rolling over at midnight), but the problem is that one of the log file is not getting rolled over at all, while the other log files are getting rolled over but not at midnight.

The log4j properties looks fine.

Can i get a solution to this problem.
Hi Roshani,

I got your solution but my problem is a bit different. Can i have something whereby i can show that message before browser timeout occurs ?

Thanks,

Hi All,

In my application, I am processing a large file, wherein the system fetches the data from the file and updates it in the database. The problem is that this processing takes a lot of time (1 - 1.5 hours). This time cannot be reduced, hence I want the user to see a message for ex: "Please Wait ... Processing the Data...", But the browser times out. Hence, I want a solution whereby I can display that message to the user till the processing completes and then proceed with the next action.

I am currently using struts for the same.

Thanks

Hi Prasad,

I have removed the caching part.

Can you please send the piece of code by which i can give a call to my action class. I think it will be a javascript call.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

I have a form which contains some textfields, after this form is submitted, we take the user to a confirmation page, but if the user clicks the back button and returns to the same page again, the values of the fields are gone. I want a solution to retain these field values in the form using javascript. Can i do it ?

Thanks in advance.
Hi,

I have a meta refresh tag i.e.

which i am using on a JSP page:

<META http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=<%=myURL%>">

The problem is this works fine on one testing ENV while the same tag does not work for another Env.

Any Suggestions.

Hi All,

I have a new requirement problem. I have a App.ear which is deployed on a remote machine and have a App.jar deployed on my machine. The App.jar contains a class A.java which has to give remote call to a EJB residing on App.ear.

How do i go about it.

Thanks in advance,
Mickey
Hey Ben resolved the issue. Just couldn't think it could be so petty.

Thanks a lot.

Here is what the dir command gives:
jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28\webapps\myApp\WEB-INF\classes\com\myappln\

07/14/2006 03:13p <DIR> ..

This is the code which does not compile and i am using TextPad to compile it.

package com.myappln;

import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;

public class FirstServlet extends HttpServlet {

public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws IOException, ServletException
{
response.setContentType("text/html");
PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
out.println("GET Request. No Form Data Posted");
}

public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse res)
throws IOException, ServletException
{
Enumeration e = request.getParameterNames();
PrintWriter out = res.getWriter ();
while (e.hasMoreElements()) {
String name = (String)e.nextElement();
String value = request.getParameter(name);
out.println(name + " = " + value);
}
}
}

Also the other servlets within webapps compile without a problem.

Thanks
