Hi All

I have an XML with Three nodes in it say name, last name, salary now i need to do validation on the same. Assume some validation and there results an error for all three nodes(different) now i want to throw one single error stack (custom error ) logging all the three issues of why it failed say (1) name is not currect 2) last name is not correct 3) salary is not currect). is this achivable in java ? i.e to log all the error messages that are present during processing at one time.

as Per my understanding in java if there results an abnormality during the execution then it terminates the further execution and it throws the exception (exception for the first XML node) it does not append the other two error messages in my case for last name and salery.

hi,

Hope the link should help you , has quite a lot of information on volatile....volatile....

Hi I have configured log4J to my application with an appender as
log4j.appender.FILE-D=org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender
log4j.appender.FILE-D.File=logs/abc/a.log
log4j.appender.FILE-D.DatePattern=.yyyy-MM-dd
log4j.appender.FILE-D.Threshold=DEBUG

Note : I have not specified any max file size propertie

the issue that i am facing is that when ever the log file size reaches to say 8GB then the logging of messages appends to a new log file which must not be as per my configuration settings, as it is configured to roll at midnight Daily.

so I was just speculating is there any windows 2k3 max file constrain, I even tried googling and got to know that for an NTFS file format the max size for a txt file is 16TB .
hence this should not be an issue but not so sure.

my system configuration is
Windows 2k3 sp2 with 16GB of RAM and has an NTFS file format

can some onehelp me in this regards of what exactly is the issue or is this a bug in Log4J?

Thanks in Advance.....

ok..to answer your question there is a tool (Install Shield) which we used for our application which is built using various components like java,c++ etc ..I do not know if there is any other tool of the same but to be clear this is not a free tool you need to buy it.....

one of the secineros that I may recollect from my experience is
when using calender Api of java.... during the start and end date computation which we did on the cloned object of the calender instance....
and even on the clent VO objects(unable to recollect the correct context) when we need to modify any values of the client on the server so we do it using the clone object .....not the original object...

I was just expecting any algorithm that can handle this issue in a much better way...
Hi...

I was just thinking that what would be the most optimistic design for the issue say if I have N number of producer threads and N number of consumer threads and consumer will act only when the producer has produces irrespective of which thread has produced and which thread is consuming, for this just a while loop or a for loop would not be enough to make the code most optimistic that is what I feel so if any one would like too share there comments about this please?

if there is an unconditional statement when using the recursions then every time that piece of code executes it must error out why only in some extraordinary cases it is throwing stack overflow error
13 years ago
looks like my code has an issue i figure it by going through the logs as it is filled with recursive error statements .

I have my application installed on two different boxes which are having same configuration and same OS installed on it . when i run my application on one box it is working fine and the same when i do on the other with the QTP tool it errors out with stackoverflow . I am much interested in knowing the cases when the stack overflow results and how to overcome it?

For my web application I do want to have a cross verification of showing out an error page when user tries to change or append values to the url explicitly ?

any Idea of how to implement this would be great?
