I see on the Oracle website that currently they offer certification for JEE5 (OCMJEA). Is it worth it? If I start preparing for JEE5 and they eliminate it when introducing the certification for JEE6, this will mean I have lost a bit of time.
Please advise.

Please tell me what's the difference between these two exams? One is "professional" and one is "expert"... which one should i take? i saw that one is jee5 and the other one jee6 but what's with the different naming?

congratulations! please share your experience, how did you train, what did you read, etc.

Thank you, Jeanne. I looked through your links, they provide a very useful reference.
Any other impressions are welcome.

I already am SCJP, SCBCD, SCWCD. I've been working in J2EE for quite a few years now, reading some materials, doing a few J2EE designs here & there , and I feel like it's time to move forward and try the SCEA/OCMJEA. Of course, some formal preparation will be needed first.

I know there is an entire list of books in the "FAQ" section, but i'm pretty sure nobody can go through ALL those books. At least not somebody with a job

So what i'm interested is: what should I read, what is really necessary from that list? I'm expecting there is no silver bullet, but your experience would be a lot helpful to me. From what I noticed around here, I saw that Cade/Sheil is highly recommended, and also Fowler's "UML Distilled". I have already read Sierra/Bates's EJB 3 book (for my SCBCD exam). Any other recommendations?

Thanks to all in anticipation!

I have a few questions

1. Can I take the upgrade exam for Java 6 (CX-310-066) if I have the Java 1.4 SCJP?

2. Maybe it's better if i take directly the SCJP6 exam (CX-310-065)? Their cost is the same

3. The upgrade exam will contain only things introduced in Java 5 and Java 6? Or only things introduced in Java 6? Or...?

4. Which books should I use to prepare for the upgrade exam? What about for the CX-310-065?

Thank you.

How can i make a html-el:checkbox readonly? I cannot make it "disabled" because like this it's not read from the form.

Hello all,

I purchased the software from Enthuware for the SCBCD 5 exam, and in addition to the 35$ the exam cost (30$ + taxes) i also got robbed of an additional 12$ which stay blocked on my visa card.

Why do the 12$ stay blocked on my card??
I have a map in which the key is a customerId (a String), and the value is a collection of objects of type T, which have an attribute BigDecimal "value" and another attribute String "manufacturer" which can take 2 values: "manuf1" and "manuf2".

I want to obtain the top 10 of customers, and to display for each the total "value", the value for manuf1 and the value for manuf2 (these are sums of course)

Any ideas are appreciated.
