i've been asked to complete my SCJP soon...

i am not new to java, but only a toddler...

could anyone there suggest some books,links useful to me?

also, there are still servlet-jsp in usage even though portlets came to existence...

why?

What is the need and the difference between the specifications?

i could understand what's the difference between the portal server apps and servlet-jsp apps.. but i still couldn't get the difference, why they came into existence..

also which is ruling now... cgi,jsp-servlet, or portlets....

i have to use sessions to pass a parameter from servlets to jsp...

how to do that?

how to accomplish the folowing task...

1. a java server page file must be created to select a pdf file from a browser.

2. a servlet must be coded to read the file and give it back to another jsp

3. the third java server page file must print it on the browser...
