Thank you so much Travis. This is the appropriate solution.
Though not very relevant to Java Ranch's "General Java" forum, I was successful experimenting with Bean Shell and come up with a solution (just in case).

Prperties File

Key1 = regex
Key2 = regex
Result = Key1 + \"_\" + Key2

Code Snippet

Properties properties = new Properties();
try {
properties.load(new FileInputStream("C:/Test/test.properties"));
String returnValue;
String finalValue = properties.getProperty("Result");
Interpreter i = new Interpreter();
try {
i.set("Key1", someValue)
i.set("Key2", someValue)
returnValue = (String)i.eval(finalValue);
}
catch (EvalError e) {
}
}
catch (IOException e) {
}

Thanks

Hi

I need to transfer the logic of creating a final string from code to a properties file. This will help if there are any changes to the logic in future with the change of only the properties file and no code change.

I want to refer a property key in another property. Something like

Key1 = value1 (value1 is not constant but a regex and hence Key1 is calculated at runtime)
Key2 = value2 (value2 is not constant but a regex and hence Key2 is calculated at runtime)
Result = Key1 + Key2

I am ready to use Regex, Bean Shell etc.

Please advice.

My application is running on Weblogic 10 in a clustered environment. The UI is a developed in Eclipse RCP.

I have a problem where a particular request never returns from the server to the desktop.

This can be reproduced only in Beta environment and does not happen in Development, Integration or System Test Environment.

I tried thread dumps but there was no thread waiting for this request.
I tried http monitor tool but I am unable to find the cause and solution for this.

Can someone please help me to understand in which situation would this happen and what must be done to overcome this?

Thanks

Hi

Issue:
I am getting a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError for an application level class called MyAction.

Brief History:
My Project deployable is an EAR. Though its an EAR it has only MDB's and no EJB's. Heart of the program is in WAR.
As it is an EAR it has APP-INF/lib folder and inside which it has many application level and 3rd party jars.

Exercise:
I am doing an exercise to deploy the EAR in Tomcat without the MDB's (precisely only the WAR file). When I deploy in Tomcat I moved all my jar files from APP-INF/lib to WEB-INF/lib of my war file.

I checked in the Tomcat documentation and its mentioned that the order of class loading is:

Bootstrap classes of your JVM
System class loader classses (described above)
/WEB-INF/classes of your web application ---com.test("MyAction" not available) -- Tomcat looks here and throws error.
/WEB-INF/lib/*.jar of your web application --com.test.MyAction (available in core.jar) -- Class available here must get loaded. (Note: the package names are same)
$CATALINA_HOME/common/classes
$CATALINA_HOME/common/endorsed/*.jar
$CATALINA_HOME/common/i18n/*.jar
$CATALINA_HOME/common/lib/*.jar
$CATALINA_BASE/shared/classes
$CATALINA_BASE/shared/lib/*.jar

In my MANIFEST.MF of the WAR file, I see the core.jar is included in the classpath.

Please help me get rid of this java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.

Hi All,
I am wondering if there is a way in Hibernate where in I can query the database and retrieve data from a table without writing SQL and any type of HQL.
Can someone help me to crack this question? Is Collection concept in Hibernate anything to do with this query?

Thanks

Friends,

I am building a sample web service using JAX-RPC and Axis and deploying on Tomcat.

I have downloaded the AXIS 1.2 version from this link --- http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/releases.html and deployed it in Tomcat server.

I am getting the below AXIS FAULT exception while deploying my java file as a service using deploy.wsdd by issuing the command "java org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient deploy.wsdd"

"AXISFault Exception Error (404) Resource not found /axis/services/AdminService"

And there is no service named "AdminService" available at the URL http://localhost:8080/axis/service/ except for some "Version".

Could anyone please tell me what am I missing, do I need to go for some other version of Axis?

Cheers,
Bala

Friends,

I need a clarification from the link provided in the previous posts : http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/TopDownAxis2WebService/td_tutorial.html

I am unable to proceed with the article as I could not find the "Axis Preference" sub preference under the "Web Service" preference.

I have attached the screen shot of the Windows --> Preference page for "Web Service".

I tried all the WTP plugin releases available in the Eclipse website but could not make "Axis Preference" to show up.

Could anyone please point me to the URL where I can find the relevant plugins for this.

Cheers,
Bala

Hi All,
I have worked on SWT plugin and features available in Eclipse 3.3.
Is there a difference between SWT and JSF? Can I use both of them interchangeably in my Resume?

Can someone tell me what is "Site Id" in the Registration Page?

I have cleared my SCJP 5.0 and want to check if the details are updated in the Sun database.

We have different types of contents like "Surveys, Promotion, Trainings etc" which we can create from our application Backend interface.
The content can be viewed from the Frontend interface.
This process is done by using Java Content Repository (JackRabbit 1.3.1 supports clustering).

Suppose I create a Content called "Check Box" Survey using the Tomcat-A, the same content is not available for the Tomcat-B.

Please tell me if you need further information.

Hello friends,
I am working in a Content Management Project.

OS - Unix;
TOMCAT 5.0;
Java 1.4;
Jackrabbit 1.3.1 (Clustering Supported) - We are using this version.
Jackrabbit 1.0 (Didn't have clustering)

We have implemented load balancing in TOMCAT (say A, B and C).

But the content created by TOMCAT-A is not visible for TOMCAT-B and TOMCAT-C even though content folder is shared between the TOMCATS.

Please tell me what should I do to solve this problem.

Hello,
I have been assigned a task to test the Load Balancing in Tomcat 5.5.
I want to know how to go about this testing.
Is there any free tools available to test tomacat load balancing?

Please Help.

Thanks once again.
