Yeah but then that isn't strenght. That's intelligence, wisdom, and a whole lot of other things. A person who is phisically strong or has great strength of will, can still lack those and make bad decisions.

Unless of course you define strength as the above qualities.

But then it's always the definition isn't it? And if we define one thing as strength is the opposite weakness?

That's why fittest is so nice. For that position there is somebody/thing that fits it best. For whatever reason.

I was under the impression that strong people kill other strong peopel, although also some weak peopel, because of orders from weak people.

And in todays wars strenght doesn't matter so much as does technological superriority. And guess where that comes from? Maybe strong peopel. But certainly smart people. And they don't need to be strong^^

The worlds fair: only the fittest survive. After all if you are able to get the strong to do work you can't. Why do you need that strenght?

Well I don't know about restaurants, I never asked for tap water there, I suppose they wouldn't mind giving you a glass for free. But you have to pay for the water because cleaning it is expensiv and the water we get is often cleaned. The water that you can get in restaurants that isn't free is usually some selters or something.

Depends where you are and which people you talk to I suppose. Funny thing is, at a concert I went to I got tot talk to a girl complaining about people not wanting to speak english with her. I couldn't understand that, I would like to speak english both to get better at it and because I like the language. But apparently many others there didn't. Oh well, their loss^^

About the tap water, lately the reverse is happening, of course we still use a tool to add CO2.^^ Could be my limited scope though. About MacDonalds, well me and my siblings used to love it. Could be because we only went about once every 3 months. Too much of good thing and all that(Though I suppose the good thing is debatable^^)

Quite frankly... I don't understand how they can like him... not that I know any girls that do. So either I don't know many girls, quite possible^^, or I live somewhere they don't like him. Also possible.

Oh and about germany beeing rude. I'll have to admit many of us have a superiority complex. Mostly undeserved.^^

Ok I've got no idea there. I'm pretty new to java myself and still learning, sometimes with solving questions like these^^ But I've never worked with the File Uploader, and if it's shown correctly under IE but not under Firefox I can't help you.

It probably has something to do with the different systems behind saving a file the two use. But I have no idea what that is.

Can you show me the code that creates fi.getName? Could be that the problem is that the file is generatet in the current location, not where you want it to be created.

Search for the getAbsolutePath method.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have an int value of 4. Now you want to change the int into a long, so you cast your int to a long that's done the way you described: ((long) 4). You know have a long with the number 4. If you type ((long) 1) you have a long with the number 1. In this case it's not necesarry though, because long automaticaly converts an int into a long. The other way around isn't possible though.

Hmm, well I would parse the Date, put year, month and days into an integer each, then see if it's the same year or not. If it's the same year it's obviously not more then 12 months apart. If there is a two year difference it's obviously more then 12 months apart. If there is a one year difference you have to check how far the months are apart. And maybe if it's very close you have to check the days to.

However that is only assuming there isn't a method to compare dates anyways, which I am a bit too lazy to look up at the moment^^

look at the toString mehtod. It returns the nanoseconds too.

Well I know only one way to read an older MS Word Document, and that's POI. I think you can also write with it but it has only limited abilities there.

With PDFBox you can read and write PDF Documents. YOu would have to look into that.

And there are of course converters for it outside of java. Depending on what you want to do you might want to look into that.
