Thanks for the suggestion. I just did some research on CSS media queries. Seems like this is the way to go for me.
I can do that too. I am not trying short cuts or anything. Just trying for a way to get just the amount of data that has been filtered. But as the data is being filtered on client side I am not sure how to come up with a solution for this. Hence posted on the forum.
I have an HTML table in a JSP page on which I have placed keyword search and some other data filters.
And all the filters are happening on client side.

I want to create a print version of the data in a new JSP page which would copy all the data that user has searched for or filtered.

I tried the following java script function:

But this copies over the entire table not just the filtered rows.

How can I copy just the data that has been filtered?

Thanks,
M
Thanks for the response I am working on making my code better.
Could you please tell me how can I add CSS conditionally on a row?
This is how I am building each row based on each Employee object:

I would like to color the row differently only if the eachEmp.ManagerCode is 3 but not 1 and 2.

Thanks.

JSP
I am creating a JSP page with a html table to display employee directory. This is scriptlet :

and then i display the table rows and columns for each employee object(PS: I know scriptlets are bad and obsolete but this is my first individual project.)

I would like to change the background color of certain rows based on value of one particular value(based on eachEmp.getManagerCode).

How can i achieve that by using javascript? I tried to call a js function by calling onload event on . But as I need to check for each row that is not the possible solution. I have not tried jquery yet as I am very new to jquery and I didnt quite understand how to do it in jquery.

Please help.

Thanks

JSP
Ya i understand that 4 and 7 are the indexes. but couldn't frame 56 as i thought it should result in 56_7ab for \d\w(digit followed by a string).

% java Regex "\d\w" "ab4 56_7ab"

Produces output:

patter is \d\w
4 56
7 7a

Can anyone explain how can i get that output?? \d\w. What i understood is it should search for a digit follwed by a char. but how is that output coming?

Please help.
