Job Description BEA's Business Interaction Division is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Aqualogic Pathways engineering team. Auqalogic Pathways is an information discovery system that combines search, tagging, and activity analytics into a participant-oriented knowledge management application which improves the discovery of information and experts. This position will expose you to advanced high-volume Java code, and you'll work with the cutting edge in SOA technology with a market leader that's growing rapidly. The position will involve providing technical leadership, design, and develop complex functionality in the Aqualogic Pathways.

BEA Systems is a publicly-traded enterprise software company. The BID division is located in San Francisco in the heart of the financial district. Prior titles are not as important as relevant experience and skill set. We're looking for gifted, experienced engineers who are willing to be team players. 8+ years software development experience shipping commercial software

Strong knowledge of the technologies and infrastructure surrounding enterprise software development; ability to learn about complex products quickly; ability to lead and to establish credibility with smart engineers.

Strong academic background and track record as an individual technical contributor; ability to articulate and establish technical vision with engineers and product managers.

Experience in building, testing, and shipping robust, highly scalable web applications. Familiarity in addressing high availability and failover issues a plus.

Strong object-oriented software design skills combined with knowledge of design patterns.


Minimum Qualifications Demonstrable knowledge in the areas of distributed applications and caching strategies.
Excellent knowledge of Java 1.5, including java.nio, threads, reflection, annotations, and generics.

Excellent knowledge of J2EE 1.4, including filters.

Familiarity with application servers, especially Tomcat is required.

Solid knowledge of SQL, databases (Oracle, MSSQL) and persistence (Hibernate).

Knowledgeable in Web Services and SOAP.

Prior experience with Spring framework, Java Server Faces and Unix platforms a plus

Senior Developer Support Engineer
Job Description The Developer Support Engineer provides developer level support assistance for all BEA AquaLogic User Interaction (ALUI) and AquaLogic Business Process Management (ALBPM) products and their associated development tools and API's including the Integration Development Kit (EDK) and native API's. Customer and communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and manage complex product development issues.



Qualifications/Necessary Skills Proven application development expertise using .NET framework with a strong focus on web application development.

Excellent analytical/troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Willingness and proven ability to learn a wide variety of programming languages, applications and software platforms.

In depth web application development using industry standard Application Server's such as BEA Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss, IIS, etc

Significant programming experience in .NET Web Services, JavaScript, XML, and JSP/ASP.Net,

Detailed understanding of Web architecture.

Detailed understanding of object-oriented architectures

Job Description As a Software Engineer for BEA, you will be part of a small team developing integration applications and developer tools built around the .NET architecture. You will be responsible for developing and implementing core features of these applications, with an emphasis on quality, usability, and maintainability. The successful candidate will have solid C# programming skills, a history of on-time, high quality feature development, and the do what it takes attitude to make the project a success.

Responsiblities:
* Implement features on schedule, with high quality
* Develop and maintain feature specifications
* Create and update feature implementation schedules and task lists
* Work with QA to ensure complete test plans for all feature work
* Implement unit tests as needed
* Communicate feature and schedule risks in a timely and constructive fashion
* Manage bug list to completion for all major development milestones
* Collaborate with fellow engineers to develop simple, robust solutions; perform code reviews
