Step 1 : Load the data to a object of type List
Step 2 : Iterate the list of the object and write the data corresponding to the excel file...
Step 3 : upload the data..

Code Snippet...

String fileName = "excelFileName";

// Create a new work book
HSSFWorkbook wb = new HSSFWorkbook();
HSSFSheet sheet = wb.createSheet("mySheet1");
........
..........
........

for (SlectedObjectTO : objectList)
{
HSSFRow rows = sheet.createRow(j);

..........
........

}

// Writing data to the output stream.
FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext()
.getResponse();
response.setHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" + fileName + ".xls");
response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
log.debug("Response contect :: " + response.getContentType());
ServletOutputStream out;

try
{
out = response.getOutputStream();
wb.write(out);
out.flush();
out.close();
}

Use the following snippent to get the request object and then set the required information in request scope

HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext()
.getRequest();
request.setAttribute("userObject","VALUE");

Request scope object will create new instance every time when requested from UI/ an event is fired !!!

So set the backing bean object in Session scope.

When on blur event is fired what is displaying in logs....

<a4j:region>
<a4j:form>
<rich:dataTable id="myList" rows="15"
value="#{xxx.myList}" var="abc"
width="100%" >

<rich:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputLabel
value="#{message['sss.bbbb']}" />
</f:facet>

<a4j:region>
<h:inputText value="#{xxxx.op}"
style="width:70px;text-align:right;"
maxlength="9" id="opid">
<a4j:support event="onblur"
action="#{varible as declared in facesConfig.methodnameofBakingBean}"
reRender="particularId">
</a4j:support>

</h:inputText>
</a4j:region>
</rich:column>
</rich:dataTable>
</a4j:form>
</a4j:region>

Replace action listner with action....

One more thing for debugging use a command button and on click of that button check weather the event is firing or not

Before deleting check weather you are getting the selected object in the backing bean or not...
use the primary key of that object and delete it form the DB and then reRender to the list
