First things first - you can try to get a job as a Data Analyst or some such role and keep up with your database skills. Learn / rather Master Oracle alongside .... and take up the OCA exams to start with and help out a senior DBA in his/her work or closely follow what he/she does ... and then take the OCP and a job as a DBA ! My inputs are - if you are using queries day in and day out - then I guess it is a matter of only getting to know some of the specific Oracle 9i Syntax and functions to be used in conjunction with your queries. At any rate - you can do it under 2 months if you can concentrate hard on it for atleast an hour a day. ( Assuming you have SQL Experience ! ) Regards, Praveen
