We use Flex3 with Spring/Java backend services. What differences/improvements is Flex 4 going to introduce? Are the improvements worth going to Flex 4 soon after release or wait for a Flex 4 bug release?

We use Flex for its ability to integrate with mapping functionality and easy back end data access with BlazeDS. Our development team has seen efficiency gains compared to our prior use of Java, JavaScript, Struts 2 and Spring on the front end development.

Our future is going to be Flex for most if not all of our web development.

Our company is setting standards of what developers can and can not use. For instance languages are .Net on the Windows side and Java for Unix projects. The .Net developers are allowed to use VBScript, but the Java developers are limited to Java only. I am trying to convince the architectural group that Groovy would be a great addition for both Windows and Unix development for scripting applications and small to medium projects. The same could be said for developing small to medium web projects with Grails instead of J2EE. Any help with convincing arguments would be greatly appreciated.

Venkat,

I have almost every Groovy book published so far. I am trying to get my company to use Groovy as an excepted language for scripting and small to medium size projects. So far management has set the standard making us a Java and .Net shop only. The .Net side is allowed to use VBScript, but for us Java developers, we do not have an accepted scripting alternative. Any help would be appreciated and I know your new book would definitely help.
