I tried Passing it as "taskSchedular" but a exception is Raised. I also tried to put id="mySchedular" but attribute id is Not Allowed.

Thanks krishna kanth for quick response,

krishna kanth wrote:You should be able to add / remove if you get hold of the instances of ScheduledTaskManager (there must be some sort of manager :-)), from java code.

what API are you using?

I am using java for services and from the service I would like to access The ScheduledTaskManager bean and add/remove/disable tasks.
The required Parameters like Task Name, cron string and whether to add/remove/disable will be passed to the service.

I would like to know how to get hold of ScheduledTaskManager bean which is instantiated by xml config (refer my original post) and what class it is, so that I can refer the spring docs and do needful depending upon methods and properties available on that class.

BTW I use eclipse as IDE for development.

Thanks and warm regards.

Hello,

I trying to form a cluster of tomcat 7 servers. I have used Memcached-Session-Manager + CouchbaseServer for session replication. I have used HAProxy for loadbalancing. Lab Tests are satisfactory for sticky as well non-sticky sessions. MSM session manager is configured in applications META-INF/Context.xml. I have thought of using farmWarDeployer for auto deployment of war among the cluster. I referred tomcat documentation where it is configured in <host> section of server.xml along with <cluster> element which uses simpletcpcluster class and inturn it uses deltamanager. I fear that both deltamanager and MSM may have some sort of clash. Since this is my first web application project I have no experience with Tomcat Config intricacies.

Can some body guide me in configuring the FarmWarDeployer along side with MSM.

Thanks and warm regards

These is No config in server.xml.
WEB-INF/web.xml has <distributale/> element
and The MEATA-INF/Config.xml is as Follows

Hello,

I have deployed a web application by using .xml in conf/Catalina/localhost/ dir and it works fine.

The xml is as follows

What I want to do is replace "/home/rsp/Backup/Appl/Web_Dev/Java_WorkSpace/Tej-EIS/WebContent"
(which is same as docbase) as appropriate ${} variable so that when I change docBase specs rest
of the virtualClasspath is automatically set.

Please guide me what variable should I use ?

Thanks and warm regards.

Hello,

We are implementing a Flex->Tomcat->Spring->Mybatis->Firebird web Application. Its a Fresh setup altogether.
What we have planned is as Follows.

There will be a Front Apache HTTP server which will serve a Generic website common to external as well internal users.
That web site will contain a link which will be only available to Internal Staff which will be pointing to Flex/Spring application
residing on Tomcat server. The generic website for External users will be a static web pages. Website for Internal staff
has static pages as well a page which loads Flex swf. Right now Internal Staff web site is Loaded on Linux M/C
for testing purpose and configured in such way that when a page containing swf is requested Login form is presented
and only when login is successful Flex application is Loaded.

What I need is some study material to implement Tomcat clustering for Obvious reasons like Scalability, Failover, and High Availability.
I am new to Tomcat Implementation and this is My First setup of Web application. So I dont have any previous experience.

What I would like to know is what are changes required in spring application config, web pages etc. etc. and a concept how
request/respose cycle will be completed in new scenario.

hello,

I am using iReport 4.8 and report structure is as follows

page header

detail band has only subreport

Group Footer

Page Footer

Subreport is summing up amt field and returning that value to main Report.

In group footer that returned value is being displayed and its working correctly.
Just below the Total Amount field I want to display tax Amt by using another variable with expression $V(TotAmt)*$F(taxRate)/100.00
but its being displayed as 0.00. For debug purpose I displayed taxRate field its also showing correct value of 7%.

Now I am puzzled that whether sub-report vales can be used in calculations in main Report ?

Can somebody guide me ?

Thanks and warm regards.

Hello,

I am absolute beginner of JMX. We have deployed Symmetric DS replicator at Branch Offices in a local Tomcat Instance and
we can access Mbeans for its Instance to get various values successfully Over JMX with VisualVM/Jconsole etc. etc.
The replicator is replicating Local Database to HO which is Updated by Bunch of Local Applications written in non Java
languages like (VB/Delphi/C++ quite heterogeneous mix of small applications). We plan to extend these applications to
have replication Information dashboard so that users will info about status of replication activity. The information
we would like to show is accessible in Jconsole through Mbeans for Symmetric DS instance.

The idea we would like to implement is to have our own servlet deployed along with symmetric DS in same Tomcat Instance
as Another Context. Local application will pass HTTP Request to this servlet and servlet will respond with information (in XML Format)
about status of replication by querying over JMX to symmetric DS.

Is it possible to connect another context over JMX in same Tomcat Instance ?

if yes, How to do that ? any example/URLs/Books/code snippets etc. etc. are highly appreciated.

Thanks and warm regards.

Thanks Rob Spoor,

Rob Spoor wrote:AccessingFileFormats has a few links to useful libraries. You will need to do a bit of the work manual, but the actual outputting of values can be done using those libraries.

Well, I asked for a penny and Key to a treasure has been handed over.
The link contains information which will take care of requirements in future too.

BTW one format which I need right now i.e. dbf is missing in that article.
any free open source jdbc driver for dbf ?

Can anybody address this issue.

Thanks and best regards

Hello,

I am doing a Flex 4, Blazeds, Spring, myBatis, jasperReports application project.
I am able to export jasperReport print object in many formats out of Box.

Now a new requirement has popped up. User needs the base data used for
report in xls, dbf, csv, txt formats which comes from database table through
myBatis in the form of Arraylist of record bean. Beans fields correspond to
database column names used in the query. This will used for further analysis
of report in excel or some other software.

Can somebody guide me how can I achieve this ?

any libs, docs, links will be a great help.

Thanks and regards

hello,

this is in continuation of other thread "puzzling Parsing Of dates"
while dissecting above problem I saw recommendations to have
application's default Timezone to tackle date time processing and persistence
issues. The idea is let application be hosted on server in any time zone
it will have fixed time zone so that all dates and times are persisted and
retrieved wrt specific time zone context.

If anybody differs with this your comments are welcomed and are valuable to me.

But I also came to know that application specific timezones can not be set but
I have to set timezone for entire JVM i.e. for all the applications using that JVM.

its suggested that JDK should be started with -Duser.timezone="<tz to set>"

I am using Spring, blazeDS, spring-security, spring-flex and iBatis at backend
so I am not starting JVM manually. So How can i use this parameter to set default timezone of "GMT+0530"
please guide me where shall i put this so that JVM uses this timezone by default.

Thanks and regards

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread,

It Seems that there is No problem with IST. The history of IST (Indian Standard Time) Like that only.
Before 1900 there was no definition of IST.
initially IST was using Madras (Chennai) Time then Kolkata time then after Independence in 1947
its using Ujain i.e. Meridian Passing through almost centre of the state so there are three different
offsets the listing below clearly indicates that. During analysis of this issue I learnt that timezones
are fixed by Politicians and not by scientists thats why there are many such issues to be dealt with
by programmers by simply setting time zone to GMT+0530 all the date time issues get vanished.

with TimeZone "GMT+0530"

Thanks and best regards

sai prashanth wrote:I tried to run your code and this is my output. I dont see anything wierd here:

Thanks Sai prashanth have you tried with IST (india not Irish i.e. GMT+0530) rather than CST timezone ?
Please noticed offset values 19800000 and 21200000 that is causing problem I believe.
another thing is that from 05:29:59 to 05:30:00 there is jump of 00:23:20 and after that
it increments linearly with input value.

Thanks and regards
