Yes, If i used semdRedirct() it will show me the request parameters in the address bar. I want to hide these request parameters or don't want to show the url in the browser's history.

Implicit POST means , simply can I make this redirect as a POST request so that it would not show the request parameters.

Do anyone have some pointers on the same.

I've to redirect username and password to the following URL:

https://www.xyz.com/abc/xyz/abc/signin?username=xxx&password=yyy&locale=en_EN

Generally this works fine, but: username and password will have to remain plain text (we cannot change this!), no encryption etc. allowed.
So my question is whether there is a way to NOT seeing the parameters after sending this request to the external server:

I'm expecting something like: https://www.xyz.com/abc/xyz/abc/signin

This would be an implicite POST isn't it?

Hi ,

The constructed url is

http://lnx1.domainname:20080/example/dologin?account=test1&password=test2&locale=en-US

The above url is not working when I am passing it to sendRedirect().

But if I re-enter the same url in same window or another window it is perfectly working.

Do you have any pointers to resolve this.

Hi,

I am using response.sendRedirect() to redirect the URL.
The URL format is as below

http://<host ort>/context?<param1=val1>&<param2=val2>&<param3=val3>

code is as below

e.g.
redirectURL = http://<host ort>/context<param1=val1>&<param2=val2>&<param3=val3>
[Note : runtime host, port, all params and values are getting populated correctly.]

response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);

Now , I can see the generated url in address bar with 403-forbidon error.

But if I re-entered the same url, it will work properly. It means I need to re-enter the url, then it will show the result.

Do any one have pointers to resolve this issue?

As per my analysis, if the redirect url dosen't have any context path then it is working fine. e.g. www.google.com.

Thanks,

1. another browser means which one?
If I copied the redirect url and enter in another window, then it is responding correctly whereas while response.sendRedirect() it is giving 403-forbidon error.

2. whether the applications running in same webserver?
They are running on different servers i.e. resins running on different machines.

3.can you post your code for redirecting?(if you dont mind)

Refer the below code:

String redirect = (String)request.getAttribute(REDIRECT_URL);
response.sendRedirect(redirect);

Here response is getting redirected properly to required url but browser showing 403-forbidon error. Now If I re-entered the same url in same browser window, it will respond properly.

Thanks Yashpal,
The url you hav mentioned is working fine. But I need to redirect to the perticular host and specific port where my another application is running.

So he url must be http://host:<port_no>/do/doLogin/<param lists values>

Do you have any idea on the same. I guess The respose is not commiting properly or the session might have some set of values..not sure.

Thanks,
