I am using struts 2.0 in my application. Whenever I try to submit any data after restarting the server, the action gets called twice and it takes a long time to submit the data. For all furthur calls for the action, the action is called only once and the time taken for submit is also proper. Cam anybody help me in finding a solution to the problem?

Actually I want to know whether is there a difference in creating a thread in a program and creating a thread in a container i.e. creating a thread in core java program and creating a thread in J2EE. If yes,
I want to create a new thread in a web container. what are the designing factors to be considered for spawing this new thread. I am sorry if I have jumbled with the concept of threading. Actually I am unaware of threading.
What steps need to be taken care of for spawning a new thread in a container? Quick help will be appreciated.
Thanks Jesper. This means that only in case of concatenation, StringBuffer holds the advantage whereas if we want to use simple string objects, String can be preferred to be more efficient. [ ]

This is quiet a common question.... Which is better between String and StringBuffer? The answer to this is generally StringBuffer but then why do we use String in most of our applications.. Can anyone please help me with this?

Can anyone please tell me what is the specific reason for having HttpServlet as an abstract class without any abstract methods?
