Hi

I have some Idea but the exact versions you have to check

JAX-WS 2.1

JSR 181: Web Services Metadata for the JavaTM Platform

JSR-000222 JavaTM Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB) 2.0

JAXP 1.4 Specification

SOAP 1.2

Web Services Description Language (WSDL) 1.1

There are few others, but these are the main specs associated with the Exam.

Even if there is a coding part its very minimal Examle create a jaxr connection steps/basic steps on marshall a document. These are pretty basic stuff as you know.

So again more theory, less code. Emphasis on the topics in my earlier post.

Have a good knowledge on xml schema this will help you on wsdl & soap questions, A big chunk on exam. And Since it's more theory go through well on last few days before the exam. It'll definetly improve your score.

Thanks again to Ivan for the notes. Must have taken hell of lot of time.

Good luck to all. By the Next Stop for me is Oracle OCA which i started during SCDJWS, NOW ALMOST HALF DONE

Hi!

Well I used the Exam notes by IVAN Krizsan (By the way big thanks to him). Did go through slides on Java Passion.com.

I think it's better to use J2EE Web Services by Richard monson Hefal for SOAP & WSDL.

Go through the Sun's WSIT tutorial.

Have more i mean moreeee..... emphasis on the theory elements on the topics above. Only 2 max 3 questions from coding parts (So althose annotations/JAXB/SAX go to waste. There were few questions on Schema, So go through it. The Exam is 90% theory. So read every thing well. So if you are more into studying & less in to coding this exam is for you.
Hi!

Just Completed the SCDJWS 5 with 54%. I could have got better marks if i have studied during the last two days which i took a rest. Costed me heavily.

The Exam was filled with lot of theory questions, So buckle up & study well. I think you could pass even with these topics if you cover thourghly

1. XML / Schema
2. WSDL
3. SOAP
4. Security
5. JAXR
6. WSIT

+ Caching Pattern

No questions on wsdl 1.2 / or soap 1.2

Go through the above topics thourghly

Very few (2/3) Questions on code snippts

More Scenario based & theory questions

I think it's good if you can try some questions from previous exam from WSDL/SOAP. Which i think i should have done it. (Small Regrets).

Hi!

For SCDJWS FOR JavaEE 5 the relevant specs are SOP 1.2 & WSDL 2. but it seems better to have knowledge on previous version as well. According to earlier posts by several people questions seem to base more on SOAP 1.1 & wsdl. I think its better to read more of Ivan krizasen notes + RMH & the slides from javapassion.com

Is there any one who have read them and appreciate them?
