hi,
did anyone experience a problem with servlets when they upgraded to resin 2.0.5.
my servlets were perfectly running until my hosting provider upgraded to resin 2.0.5. my web application is located in a subdirectory inside public_html. and now the servlets can not be located and my other classes as well.
i have 3 web applications in public_html each have its own directory.
thank you very much.

im using ftp.
i have 3 web applications.
how will i create my conf file?
thanks.

hi all,
i created a web application in java. i created a directory "MyApplication" inside public-html and placed the standard directory settings (e.g. WEB-INF) inside "MyApplication". and it worked fine.
but now, after three months of implementation, something went wrong, the jsps are being displayed but the engine can not seem to find the servlets. i contacted our hosting provider's tech support and he advised me to place the web applications outside public-html. can someone teach me how to do it? is there really a conflic in the web applications?
if that is the cause will someone teach me how to place my web applications outside public-html...
im also open for other possible causes and workarounds. thank you very much.

Actually the bug is in the code not in the Resin engine, however we already are in the process of upgrading to the newest Resin 2.0.5

thanks a lot DC.
you said it exactly right. i found out the error in stdout.log. and yes... i am hosting our site in CWI. and the tech support gave me the exact answer as you said. i already created a ticket about this problem and will post their reply on this messageboard.

hi, i developed a web application using java and hosted it in a resin2.0.1 environment.
the web application is doing well and all the modules are perfectly running.
the problem is the resin server displays a can't contact servlet runner at [IP address] occassionally. we resolve this problem by restarting the jsp engine and everything is doing well again.
but the problem is, we can't run our application smoothly. we asked the technical support of our hosting provider and he said that it might be in our code.
pls help. thanks =)

hi folks,
got the solution...
i just placed

out.close();
return;
i discovered that after send.Redirect(url) displays the url, it still performs the operation after the statement. although out.close() is enough to solve the "Document Moved" problem i still opted to include the return statement so the servlet will stop executing the rest of the statements after send.Redirect.
hope this will also help others.

hi i developed a servlet using resin and the servlet worked well. but when i tried to run it in tomcat, a "Document Moved" error occurred then displays a hyperlink to the correct page and the page is correctly displayed.
is there a workaround here?
thanks.

hi, i will be developing a module wherein i will need to parse texts from a text file.
i am just wondering which one is a better and more efficient way...
is it uploading the text file first in the server and then proceed with parsing or should i just read the text file, store it in a stringbuffer and then parse the string.
thanks. appreciate your comments on this.

hi, im using oreilly's multipart class to upload files in my web application. All is doing well but when i upload a file which is greater than the maximum file size, an ioexception occurs.
my problem is that the values of all the form elements are lost when this exception is thrown or catched. how can i preserve those values so i can display the same form with the original values preserved?
pls. help...
thanks.

hi. im using javamail
for the smtp server i specified our smtp server.
when sending emails in the same organization javamail works fine.
but when i specify an address on a different domain a SendingFailedException is displayed.
i read that the problem is the setting of SMTP server. but when i use outlook to send an email on a different domain using the same SMTP server, i am able to send the email.
thanks

it worked! many thanks to you.
i preferred <pre></pre> tag because it
seemed to work faster than manipulating
the string using String Tokenizer.
thanks again
