nothing.. i just created the domain & started the manager server..

happens only when i start the managed servers

Recently after upgrading my weblogic 10g domain to weblogic 10.3.5 & jdk 1.5 to 1.6_31, i encountered the below errors during server startup. ther server starts up, application works absolutely fine. Just the below error..

In weblogic 8 console, the connection pool & the datasource are present separately where as in weblogic 9 onwards, the connection pool is present inside the datasource. Any particular reason for this?

I asked my friend and he said that in weblogic 8, two classes were called as both of them were separate which is not so from weblogc 9 onwards. Is it so?

you can disable weblogic to start in prod mode from the admin server startup command line or edit in config.xml

to prevent the frequent prompt of username & password, make the entries in the server startup scripts.

the main config file is config.xml which both servers A & B use. There is no temporary file stored in B. It reads the config.xml also.

There should be another config file called msi-config.xml which the servers use when admin server fails. If you donot find this file, then your servers are not configured to run independently in absence of admin server.

When admin fails, both of these servers use msi-config.xml file and update all changes in it. Once the admin server comes up, both the config files are synchronized and all latest changes are updated in config.xml. After that both of the servers start using config.xml

In Unix, we give kill -3 <pid> three times to generate thread dump.

Why don't we give this command once or more than three times

goto start menu->all programs->BEA products->Tools and click on Configuration Wizard. Create a domain and you will be prompted for user name and password. enter the details and give the same username and password in console.

open the console and click on the server(s) that has the stuck threads. click the monitoring tab and click on performance tab in the monitoring tab. then click dump thread stacks.

OR

kill -3 process_name. Do this 3 times i.e

kill -3 process_name
kill -3 process_name
kill -3 process_name

every server generated a log file. check the log messages. you will see a message like

<The server log file D:\bea\user_projects\domains\amit--domain\servers\m1\logs\m1.log is opened. All server side log events will be written to this file.>
