If you know Java .. learning Flex/AIR isn't that difficult since ActionScript and Java has lot of similarities.

Also Its very easy to integrate AIR applications with server side technologies like Java.

How can I use a JPA-PersistenceContext in TestNG ?

Just like how you use in JUnit

Please re-run Maven with the -e switch and paste the stack trace here

I want to improve the performance.

Better use some open source caching framework like JBoss cache. when the application starts up. retrieve everything from DB and put it in cache. When ever there is a database update/insert happens update cache too.

Hello alfonz

Can you make sure you have proper versions of the following jars in classpath

validation-api
hibernate-validator
>> I plan to deploy each desktop client machine a servlet embedded server like Tomcat, Jetty, or other.

This is not recommended .

Not sure why you choose GWT. If you just want to replace Swings and wanna give a rich user experience go for Adobe AIR

Can you make sure the WSDL created will work using some testing tools ?

Use eclipse web service explorer or storm http://storm.codeplex.com/

Sam

Why are you using response.sendRedirect(url) ?

If you want to consume another ervice , use Apache httpclient

You can use any java API's in server side code,Better create a library project and add it as dependency to the server side code.

But you can ONLY communicate to the server machine.

I was using jboss-4.2.1.GA for the deployment , and when I moved the war to jboss-5.1.0.GA , I'm getting XML parser errors.
