There's currently a survey going to get a clearer picture of who the Jenkins users are. It'll help the project, so if you use Jenkins, please take it! As an added incentive, CloudBees is throwing in an AppleTV. http://bit.ly/unUAnz

The first Jenkins User Conference brings Jenkins experts and enthusiasts together for an invaluable day of learning and networking opportunities. Join the community on October 2nd in San Francisco, the Sunday before JavaOne, to learn and discuss best practices, plug-in development, building on-premise Java or cloud applications and more. Better yet, submit your own talk and share your knowledge with the world (deadline is 9/1).

CloudBees, Liferay, Red Hat, New Relic and Sauce Labs are supporting the conference so it’s free to all (including lunch and happy hour!).

If you're interested in building, testing, or deploying Java apps in the cloud, you might enjoy CloudBees' upcoming webinar, "Stairway to Heaven... in the Cloud."

CloudBees CEO (and former JBoss CTO) Sacha Labourey and the Bees will demonstrate the ease of building and deploying Java apps in the cloud, using mature, rock-solid technology that's already running 4000 applications. Teams doing continuous integration/deployment will find this webinar particularly interesting. CloudBees will use Jenkins in the cloud to build and test software (using additional Jenkins plug-ins), and then immediately deploy it live.

The webinar happens live at 10amPT on June 8. No worries if you can't make it - CloudBees will send a link to the video to anyone who registers.

Hudson/Jenkins founder and CloudBees architect Kohsuke Kawaguchi is teaching a 1-day course in San Francisco on April 5, Mastering Continuous Integration with Jenkins/Hudson, with another class to be scheduled soon in London.

Kohsuke will share his knowledge on how to set up an effective Continuous Integration (Jenkins) environment that reduces integration issues, improves code quality, and improves communication and collaboration between team members.

If your team uses Jenkins/Hudson for continuous integration, you might find Jenkins/Hudson creator Kohsuke Kawaguchi's new white paper very helpful...

Upcoming Webinar: Spring Java web apps to the cloud on March 2, 2011 at 10am PT

On March 2nd, join CloudBees architects Spike Washburn and Ryan Campbell as they demonstrate how to “Spring Java web apps to the cloud.” If you're a Java EE or a Spring developer, considering moving your application to the cloud, and don’t know how to get there, then you'll learn something useful!

The CloudBees platform is the world's first Platform as a Service for Java that encompasses both development and deployment. Spike, who is the architect for RUN@cloud, will show you how to deploy both a Java EE web app and a Spring web app to the CloudBees platform.

But deploying to the Cloud is only part of the process. To take full advantage of the cloud, teams can smoothly develop, build and test applications in the cloud in addition to deploying them. To demonstrate the power of building in the cloud, Ryan our DEV@cloud architect, will take the web apps developed by Spike and hook them into the DEV@cloud environment, where he will use Jenkins (formerly Hudson) to continuously deploy the application to RUN@cloud.

Check it out!
