What was that question in generics?

11 years ago
Hi saima,

So in case of wait() , we are using two terms Thread and Object because wait() method has to be called from a synchronized context and the thread calling wait() must own the lock on the object (Thread Object) on which wait() is called .The thread releases the lock. The thread calling wait() waits (is blocked) until it gets the lock and the notify() method is called.

can you explain with simple code please.

Thank a lot,
Thanvi

Mr.Rob,

Yes, It was the problem of Layout.
But if i add any component inside the tabbedPane, then it is visible else it is still seems to be looking like a list.

Thanks in advance,

Hello all,

Can i add a JTabbedPane to JPanel, and add that JPanel to another JPanel?
if i add so, it seems to like a list.

My task is:
1. panel1 should contain some components
2. panel2 should contain some components along with tabs
3. panel2 should be added to panel1.

Thanks in advance,

Im new to swing, please clear me this doubt.

import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class reference extends JFrame{
JPanel p1;
JButton b;
reference(){
b=new JButton("Click me");
setLayout(new FlowLayout());
add(b);
setVisible(true);

setSize(500,500);
}

public static void main(String str[])
{
new reference();
}

}

I have just extended JFrame in the code, now when im calling the setLayout(), setVisible(), setSize() without any reference variable.
I want to know which objects setLayout(), setVisible(), setSize() is being invoked. Whether its JFrame or its superclass?

Please correct me if im wrong.
really confused.

Thanks in advance

A lightweight component is one that "borrows" the screen resource of an ancestor (which means it has no native resource of its own -- so it's "lighter").

what is the native resource?

Can anyone give me examples of lightweight component and heavy weight component.
