Hello Ulf!
Let me put it this way: What is the salary range between a recent graduate with an OOP masters degree, with 6 months (PHP web development) work experience, and somebody with over 5 years work experience with the same university qualifications (M.Sc. in OOP).
Hope I am clear enough this time, if not please ask.
Regards,
Rocco.

Hello,
I am using the latest version of Eclipse with Glassfish installed (no Tomcat).
I am trying to create a dynamic web project. I go new->other->web->Dynamic web project.
When I finish with the wizard I get a new project in the project explorer.
My problem is that it is a very complicated syntax!
There is a Deployment Descriptor, a Referenced Types, a Java Resources:src folder , a build folder and a WebContent folder with META-INF, WEB-INF subfolders.
I can't find what each folder is for!
For example: Where should I put the servlets and where the JSP's, web.xml, etc.?

Please advise,

Rocco.
Hello,
The current job market, in my country (Greece), is asking for Project Managers, or else developers with more than 4 years experience.
My MSc in OO programing, or other qualifications/examinations do not seem enough!
Places for beginners are extremely rare and beyond the scope of this topic.
How do I make it up to there?
Should I hire a project manager to teach me? How can this be organized?
Are there any projects open for me, online or not?
Should I go for a PhD? What thesis should I look for?

..

Or what?

It depends, and the fact that you have this degree is unlikely to factor in to it by more than a small amount. What is your first degree in?

Cheers!

My first degree is Physics and I also hold an M.S in OO Programming from City university UK (didn't get me a job for years now).
So I am looking forward to another qualification.
Can you estimate how sooner and with how much more salary will this Columbia degree earn me a job?

Can you estimate how much will I be getting from a US employer, after graduation?

Mike, can you explain why?

Hello,
It's the Columbia University.
They say it has the same brand recognition.
I also have no previous experience as a developer.

Hello,
I am offered a place within the top 10 US universities.
The degree is a M.S in Computing Science and there are various tracks to chose from.
It is distance learning and it is going to cost around 50.000 USD.
My question is whether I should go for it or not depending on the salary I will receive from US employers.
I am asking for your opinion, thank you.
