If we set the crossContext property to true, we can only access the resources such as servlets,jsps,other files in other web app. But we can't access session object in other context. We can write resource(servlet or jsp) which gives the info'n about the session object in other context.

How can we know all the context names or all the web app names with in the web container in a servlet?

I think it's better to save the content in a database like oracle from one servlet and access the content in that database from another servlet.

may be your deployment descriptor web.xml is wrong or not available in your directory structure. (for servlets in tomcat)(i don't know about elipse).

As you said join method blocks the current thread until the 't' thread finishes.

when the current thread call the t.join(), then it goes to the blocked state and it will come back to the runnable state when the 't' thread dies. so, it is based on the OS for the current thread is to be in running state.
What is the meaning of

import java.io.File.*;

class Sample
{
}

the above file class is successfully compiled. But I can't understand the meaning of import statement.

Can you explain?

Thanks,
