I have only theoretical knowledge on J2ee. It is now i got a chance to develop an e commerce site.No one is there to help me.The project is an e commerce site. I have only the knowledge on servlet jsp some EJB.please give me any valuable suggestions and reference to develop this.(including the software design of this project and things to care on this etc).it will be a very help for me to get valuable suggestions from experienced.thanks.
My suggestion:
1) visit some of the ecommerce site - for example amazone, and know the business process.
2) Have modules like Customer Accout & Profile, catalog, Shopping Cart, Checkout, Credit Card Processing, Offer, Order, Order confirmation, Shipping, Merchant Account setup etc.
3) Have use cases for these modules.
4) Develop class diagrams.
5) Decide about the database tables.
6) Handle Connection pooling & transactions.
7) Identify tasks.
8) Coding & Testing etc.
Try to divide the project in module, iterations, and small tasks to better handle them.
Hope this helps,
Surendra

Please chech Invoker servlet entry, which lets the Tomcat run the application servlet without first making changes to /WEB-INF/web.xml file. The class file for the servlet is dropped to the folder WEB-INF/classes and use http://host/servlet/ServletName
To invoke the invoker servlet, uncomment the following lines in $install_dir/conf/web.xml (for example, c:/Program files/Apache Group/Tomcat 4.1/conf/web.xml

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>invoker</servlet-name>
<url-pattern</servlet/*<url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
Until now the invoker was enabled by default, but after 4.1.12 Tomcat the invoker is diabled by default.
Invoker servlet lets the Tomcat run the application servlet run without first making changes to /WEB-INF/web.xml file.
The class file for the servlet is dropped to the folder WEB-INF/classes and use http://host/servlet/servletname
To invoke the invoker servlet, uncomment the following lines in $install_dir/conf/web.xml (c:/Program files/Apache Group/Tomcat 4.1/conf/web.xml

In my opinion balance is important here, and passing with 61% or 100% is result of combination of many factors.
Sure, 100% is better than 61%, but time is also important. If it takes for me 4 months study to get 100% and 2 months study for 80%, I would settle for 80% and move on to next thing.
The presence of web.xml file is must in the WEB-INF directory for web application?
Is there a default for this web.xml file in case the file is not present in WEB-INF directory?
I would recommend downloading and installing. j2sdk1.4.x and jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24.
I would first start with a good book on jsp and servlets and write some code, and then read a book for the scwd-test.
Thank you Dan. I used your mock exams, they are very close to the real exam and very useful. Also thanks for your prompt replies to my emails.

I am with Chung Lee and Mark Stone on this. It is the static variable. There is only one copy of 'i' and the second loop does not get ececuted. Changing i to non static variable will print the second list.
Thanks,
