Read Sun Certified Enterprise Architect guide by -mark cade and humphrey sheil. http://www.amazon.com/Certified-Enterprise-Architect-Study-Edition/dp/0131482033.
For component diagram, just follow Mark Cade example. Don't go by use case wise, go by layer wise. It should be application specific. Component is basically the different component of your designed application.
Hey....I haven't used any simulator for part-1....but I went through some of the books like Mastering EJB, head first Design Patterns and also prepared some notes for GOF Design patterns with some simple java example. For Core JEE pattern I just used the link http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/.....I also used some printed question banks for the part-1 which was very helpfull. Apart from these I also applied some of the real life experiences which I got while working on Web based application with j2ee technologies like ejb3, jpa, jsp/servlet, jstl etc......

I passed today OCMJEA with score 128. Despite of getting 118 marks in my first submission I failed by 4 marks in Deployment diagram. By looking the failed score I reenergized to resubmit the assignment with refined Deployment diagram and also some of the obvious required changes suggested in score card. After 2 days of resubmission I got the mail with those good words "Congratulations! You have passed..... you are 1% of elite.......".

Preparation for part -1: If a person did scjp, scwcd and scbcd then I assume that he/she is already have knowledge of APIs. But the most important is that the exam expect actual application and proper use of j2ee technologies. A person needs to be aware of all non functinal requirements and how j2ee technologies take care of those. Most of the questions will be based on application not on direct api. Apart from that you will have to be aware of all the GOF design patterns (Creational, Behavioral and structural) and Core JEE patterns with their applications, you will have to be intelligent enough to choose a design pattern if certain situation is given. Pay special attention to security, that will help you further in assignment to identify risks in your application. I will advice to go through mock questions for part 1. It will boost your confidence as well as will help you to identify your weak areas.
