Hi Ranchers,

Today I passed Oracle certified Expert, Java EE 6 Web Component Developer Exam with 87%.

Thanks a lot to Javaranch, HFSJ and Piotr's mock exam.

Hi Ranchers,

I am working on a project which consists of requirements for showing organization's twitter feeds on intranet which is a java based application.

I have a Javascript widget provided by twitter but due to some issues, it might not work well. So I thought of implementing on server side which would give me better control. I have seen SPRING social framework as well as twitter4j framework.

If anyone of you has previously worked with similar task, could you please suggest me the simplest and good Java API for implementing this?

This might not be the correct forum but I didn't see any related forum for this. Admins can move my thread to appropriate forum.

Thanking you in advance.

Cheers,
Swapnil
Thanks Roel.

But I want to know what is the basic difference between them? Why those separate methods exist?

Hi Ranchers,

What is the exact difference between jspinit and _jspInit?

I searched it on google and found the answers like :
1. After translating jsp into servlet, jspInit gets converted to _jspInit
2. _jspInit is only created when we use custom tags in JSP

But when I saw the source code of org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspbase, there are calls to both jpInit and _jspInit from init method?

Could you please help me in understanding in this? thanks in advance.
Thanks a lot Saloni. I have posted my result in results forum.

Hi all,

Yesterday I cleared OCPJP 6.0 exam with 81%. I know the score is not that great but not that bad either:-P

I studied K&B thoroughly and followed Javaranch. Kathy and Bert RULES....!!!

Thanks to all ranchers for their quick replies and good explanation.

I did not attempt any of the mock exams but a single exam from Devaka's Examlab. I did not do anything other than K&B. So it is a good score

Hi Ranchers,

I just cleared OCPJP 6.0 with only K&B book and Javaranch. No mocks, no other study material. Thanks a lot to Kathy and Bert for such a wonderful book. Thanks a lot to all ranchers and Javaranch.

I wanted to know how to add my name to SCJP wall of fame?

Cheers,
Swapnil
Hi Ranchers,

I just cleared OCPJP 6.0 and want to start preparations for OCEWCD (1Z0-899). I have gone through the links given on the home page of SCWCD forum. I would like to know if there is a good study guide available for following topics:

Spec: JSR-000315 JavaTM Servlet 3.0 (Final Release)
Spec: JSR-000245 JavaServer Pages 2.2 and Expression Language 2.2 (Maintenance Release)
Spec: JSR-000052 JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library Specification (Maintenance Release 2)

If there is no study material available then could you please guide me on how to study this specs? Do we have to study full specs or only part of it?

Regards,
Swapnil
Thanks Helen. It's clear now.

Thanks a lot.
Helen, but for starting the thread, we call start method which in turn would call run() method. Isn't it?
Norbert, you are correct. Could you please explain me in detail why this would not compile?

Helen,I didn't get you.
Hi,

I came across this question in Devaka's Examlab. What will be the output of following code?

Hi All,

I would like to ask one question here.

he output of first SOP is c c 1 1

Why this 1 is printed two times?
Hi,

According to me, following answer is correct:

E.A Throwable is thrown by main

Java compiler only checks whether checked exceptions are caught or not. If method is throwing the checked exception and catch block doesn't specify that exception or superclass of it, then compilation error would occur. Here method is throwing error and compiler would not check if there exist a catch block for error or not. So there would not be any compilation error.

As error is subtype of Throwable , a Throwable is thrown by main.
