I have an issue when a stored procedure of oracle is called using the org.springframework.jdbc.object.StoredProcedure. The issue is that when the input parameter is passed as NULL then at the stored procedure side, it is recieved as junk character. Oracle version is 10g and running on sun solaris machine. Also i am using oracle thin driver. Please let me know what could be the issue.

Deepak.

JSP
ok. Let me explain my requirement in detail.

I have an OK button on my JSP and on click of that OK button, i am suppose to send some parameter as POST to another application in a new window( i.e. a new browser window should open on click of OK). At the same time, i also need to forward the request to another screen which is a summary screen on the same application. So it is not possible for me to combine these two activities into one.

Also how Ajax can help here?

Hi,

I have a requirement to submit two forms ( each form to a different strut action class ) on click of a submit button from JSP. Any idea how this can be achieved? Is it OK if i write a java script method and inside the method i write the two form submit as below?

Please let me know if there is any other way of doing it.By the way form1 will submit to a different url (different application) and form2 will submit to an action class on the same application.
Also i have read that two forms can't be submitted from a JSP at the same time.

Hi,
I have a Webshere MQ v6.x installation on sun solaris 10. Now the issue is that we have many developers in our team who will need to access this one MQ installation for development and testing. Since many developers access one single MQ server for development and testing, it is becoming difficult.

I have heard of sun solaris virtualisation where many zone can be created and websphere MQ can be installed on each of these zones and each zone can have its own IP address. If this is possible then each devloper can have one zone each and will resolve our issue. But not sure whether it is a feasible option and whether it would be possible to have multiple MQ installation on a single server. Can someone please suggest?

If this is not possible then is there any other way we can create multiple instances/Virtualisation of a single websphere MQ installation? Note that we have license only for installation of MQ on one solaris server.

thanks.

Thanks . Yes i want my web application to use Log4j and NOT trying to get Websphere to write logs.

I have one more question here. When you say log4j initialization happens automatically, does that mean that Websphere initializes log4j using the DOMConfigurator.configure()? OR log4j internally does this for us?

Also when exactly do we use DOMConfigurator.configure() ? when log4j.xml(or log4j.properties) not available in classpath?

Hi,

Can any one please tell whether in need to explicitly initialize the Log4j in the below way using java code in an J2EE application or Websphere internally initialize Log4j?

Please note that i am configuring log4j.xml as a system property.

<code>
URL configFileResource = ServletKara.class.getResource(getInitParameter("logconfig"));
DOMConfigurator.configure(configFileResource);
</code>

HI,

can you please give some guidance on how to develop a SSO myself for an J2EE application? I need to deploy this SSO in a separate machine(sun OS) and my J2EE application will be running in different Sun machine. I need to develop this SSO in java/j2EE only.

thanks & regards,
Deepak.

I am trying to use the streaming xml feature of Saxparser for parsing the xml from a socket.Since streaming helps in parsing the xml as and when it is available instead of waiting for the entire xml to get buffered, i hope this is the prefered solution when dealing with socket stream.

I am using java 1.5 and using the parser provided by java 1.5( i think Xerces parser). In the code is am doing the following to activate streaming where StreamingCharFactory is a class created which extends org.apache.xerces.readers.DefaultReaderFactory.

The issue is that the existing parser provided by Java 1.5 doesn't recognise the method : and gives error. Can any one tell me what should be the version of the Xerces parser that i should be using here that support method and

HI,

If we can overriding loadClass and subvert the delegation order, we would be able to even load the system packages like java*, javax* etc right? So isn't it a security threat in java?

Thanks. So it is technically possible to change the delegation order let the custom class loader load the java classes from packages java* & javax* etc right? So isn't it a security threat to java?

HI,
Can some one tell me whether it is possible to write a custom classloader that can load a java system class say java.util* package?

I understand that by overriding the "loadclass" method of classloader, the custom classloader can change the deligation.Also "findClass" can be overridden to search for the class file. SO in this way is it not possible to implement custom class by changing the delegation model and always load the system classes by custom class loader?
