I have totally confused with below code. When I pass value as <script>alert(1);</script> then I am getting same result as passed value.
Then what is the use of canonicalize. Or am I doing any mistake? Here the value is the value of request.getParameter().

Encoder enc = ESAPI.encoder();
String result = enc.canonicalize(value);

When Hibernate or Spring transaction should be used ? Are they work same ?.If we are creating application in which both spring and hibernate are being used then which transactions should be used generally.

I always confuse in mapping ie Using of @OneToOne , @PrimaryKeyJoinColumn , @JoinColumn. On which side of entity class these annotations are used. And how to mark the entity class as Parent and Child class ?
When should use RequestBody and ModelAttribute annotaion in spring MVC . And what is the format of the passing request in both cases ie either json or xml ?

When should we use Inheritance mapping and relational mapping in Hibernate?
Thanks Joe.
It will help me a lot.

<package name="a" extends="struts-default">
<action name="verify" class="com.ims.LogingEx">
<result name="success">/success.jsp</result>
</action>
</package>

I let to know that when writing <action> node without any <interceptor-ref> then on that time also any interceptor working by default
ie. no interceptor work before hitting that action class as above example.

Or Alway "default stack" interceptor calls before that action.

<package name="a" extends="struts-default">

<interceptors>
<interceptor name="myOwn" class="com.mis.MyInterceptor"></interceptor>
<interceptor-stack name="dummyName">
<interceptor-ref name="myOwn"/>
</interceptor-stack>
</interceptors>

<action name="verify" class="com.ims.LogingEx">
<interceptor-ref name="dummyName"/>
<result name="success">/success.jsp</result>
</action>
</package>

My question is
1. If we use custom interceptor then on that time inbuilt interceptor does not work or inbuilt interceptor in also work by default or both default inbuilt as well as custom interceptor also work simultaneously ?
2. If we do not write <interceptor-ref> in <action> tag then on that time which interceptors work?

After clicking button I have to open model window of spring form . That window should contain populated drop-down values also.
But when I am clicking the button I am getting error org.springframework.beans.NotReadablePropertyException: Invalid property.

Can we open model window which get data from spring controller?

following is login.jsp page using spring security.

My question is can we add combo box in above jsp page ? and Can we map this jsp with our own custom java bean form using @ModelAttribute with extra fields like county name(from combo box) etc. ?
If we can please kindly provide me the way I can do.

If two tables(<table>) in same hierarchy (sibling) and width of both tables are same then is the width of first table's <td> dependent to subsequent table's <td>?
Are outer table's tr and td dependent to inner table tr and td regarding size? When I change the size(width) of td or add one more td in inner table ie if outer table contains 3 td and inner table contains 4 td then layout of outer table becomes changed.

Sorry Dave, I posted wrongly in JDBC forums and it is the part of html and JSP. I have posted it again in JSP topic.
What is the difference between "pixels" and "%" when giving table size? Where and when should they be used?
