Purpose

The Data Governance Unit comprises a team of eight Data Governance Officers who together lead various initiatives and working groups to establish and improve data governance, data management and reporting throughout the EIB. You will design a suitable framework for Reference and Master Data, aiming at providing high quality data across EIB Group`s business processes and IT applications, and drive projects to guarantee a consistent and coherent use of such data. You will ensure that business needs of all organisational entities involved or affected are met to reduce risks associated with data redundancy thereby contributing to the implementation of the BCBS239 program.

You will report to the Head of the Data Governance Unit.

Accountabilities

• Design the Reference and Master Data Management Framework describing the guiding principles for the EIB Group, including processes, roles and responsibilities in the maintenance of Reference and Master Data in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of an EIB Group Reference and Master Data Management architecture defining the structure and interaction between systems, applications and the data warehouse
• Identify and maintain an inventory of Reference and Master Data sources and contributors to ensure consistency; identify each contributor’s role & responsibilities
• Design and run communication and change management campaigns to share knowledge and increase awareness on the established Reference and Master Data Management concept and framework
• Ensure day-to-day operations to determine Reference and Master Data Management owners, follow-up on quality issues, agree on standards and definitions to be used
• Ensure that data quality rules and suitable processes are in place to measure the quality of Reference and Master Data
• Serve as a first-level point of contact for business partners (data officers and data owners) in troubleshooting issues encountered regarding Master and Reference Data

Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, economics, finance, information management or a related field with exposure to data governance and data quality subjects
• Minimum of 5 years’ of relevant professional experience in data management including experience in data governance
• Solid experience in Reference and Master Data Management, ideally in designing, implementing and in operationalizing (in term of processes and tools) of such a framework
• Demonstrated knowledge of international data standards (such as ISO codes, European statistical standards and LEI)
• Good knowledge of IT tools used for managing Reference and Master Data Management, and a good understanding of the technical aspects involved

We currently have opportunities for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join our Defence Information business, based out of our site in Yeovil, Somerset. Our base is west of town, just off the A3088, where we provide a workplace that supports our culture, with facilities that enable our people to deliver great work in a relaxed and creative environment. The town is well connected with train lines running to London and Bristol, and enjoys excellent local public transport services.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be involved in a range of technical projects and tasks across the Software Development Lifecycle including Requirements analysis, software design, software implementation and software testing. You will be working closely with your team and BAE Customers on a day to day basis reporting into the Sprint Lead and Engineering Managers.

This role will give you the opportunity to work with a highly professional technical team taking software through the full lifecycle to delivery.


Your main responsibilities as a Senior Software Engineer will involve:

Ownership of requirements, design and implementation, and test to a high standard, within schedule and estimates

Software development of solutions

Testing of completed functionality

Adherence to project processes and software development practices

Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership

Supporting System Test and Integration Activities

Production of appropriate technical documentation

Design of technical solutions

Estimation of development activities

Potential to lead teams of up to 10 Software Engineers


Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Software Engineer:

Software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing), and tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs)

Experience and understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements & design through to delivery

A technical track record in skill area’s which may include;

Desktop-based applications (Java and Eclipse RCP or C#/C++)

Web-oriented applications and services (Java/C#, JSP, HTML, CSS, Apache middleware)

Business intelligence/analytics tools and techniques (ETL, SQL, Python)

Windows or Linux target environments

Object-oriented design/development including UML

As a member of the Product Security Team, you will enable and support the successful delivery of the submarine/defence capabilities whilst being provided with the opportunity to develop professionally amongst leading specialists. This is a very challenging and exciting role dealing with highly complex systems.

Your levels of responsibilities will depend on your skills and experience; however you will be able to identify and support engineering activities in your area of responsibility, understand and report on programme status and support the implementation of key security practices of which supports the overall Submarine capability that plays a critical role in our nation's defence.

Your Main Responsibilities as a Product Security Engineer will include;

Working closely with and providing advice to both internal and external stakeholders (including our supply chain) to ensure that Product Security Engineering is considered and included throughout the Product lifecycle.

Having sufficient understanding of a system, its concept of use and architectures, in order to provide an accurate assessment of product security in terms of possible threats and potential avenues of attack.

Supporting the design and development of secure systems by providing Product Security

Engineering expertise and ensuring that risk mitigations are implemented early and throughout the design.

Lead on the development  and maintenance of Product Security strategies, processes, guidance and awareness.

Supporting and taking responsibility for accreditation/product security assurance activities for key systems within the Submarine.

Identifying and potentially taking ownership for security requirements for key systems.

Attending Security Working Groups (SWGs) with the customer and key industry partners to ensure that risks and issues have been identified and sentenced in a timely fashion.

Identifying the need for and supporting Security Testing and Vulnerability Management activities.

To manage and control the impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability of a systems and consider the future effect on technology and its performance against the design intent.


Your Skills and Qualifications as a Product Security Engineer will ideally include;

Essential:

A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM subject (Engineering, IT, Sciences or Maths etc.) or Information Security related.

Knowledge and demonstrable experience of cyber security activities within a defence, government, engineering or a transferable domain.

Demonstrable experience of presenting technical information and/or engaging with stakeholders.

Desirable:

Hold Cyber Certified Professional (CCP), SIRA or IA Architect, CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, CISMP or equivalent qualifications.

Previous experience with systems of systems, complex IT projects or industrial control systems.
