I'm using eclipse on suse 9.2 and it works with no problems. At begining i had some problems, but after i uninstalled "gtk-qt-engine" (I'm using kde and not gnome as my graphical desktop environment) those problems disappeared.
Hi!
As you presumably know, anythibg declared as private is visible only in the class itself. If you declare them as public, they can be accessed from any class in any package.
But if you want things to be accessed also in successors of your class, you declare it private. So 'protected' basicly means: "only me and my subclasses can see this"

Hi!
You should run your program from root directory. Declare "Test" class also as part of package (in your case Test), recompile (from root with javac -classpath "." Test.Test.java ) and run (from root withe java Test.Test)
Note: Pacakge name usualy begins with lower case.
Have fun!
