Makes sense.
So, how can I overcome this problem?
I have Windows XP installed on my laptop and I'm planning to uninstall XP & install Windows 2000 instead.
When I try to boot my laptop with the W2K installation CD, I get the following message

I'm pretty sure that the CD is bootable (I tried it in my friend's PC and it could boot - his PC had W2K installed). There is no problem with my CD drive either, because I'm able to boot with Windows XP CD & with Knoppix CD.

My assumption is that, you can't boot with a disk which has a lower version of Windows than the one which is currently installed. Is my assumption correct?

If that is the case, how can I remove XP & install W2K?

To make things worse, I cannot use both floppy drive & CD drive in my laptop simultaneously. I have to plug one drive out to use the other.

Please help.

I have a laptop - Single harddisk and two partitions. It has Windows XP installed on it.

I'm planning to remove Windows XP and make it a dual boot machine with Windows 2000 & SUSE Linux 10.

Should I need to format the harddisk and install XP or it will be automatically taken care when I boot with Windows 2000 CD?

If I need to format the harddisk
-Should I use the bootdisk prepared from Windows XP or should I use the once which was prepared from W2K?

I heard that Linux cannot write into NTFS partitions. What is the best way to install Linux
-Should I format the entire harddisk as FAT32?
-Or is it okay if I have 3 partitions, one for Windows 2000 (in NTFS), one for Linux and one more partition with FAT32, which can be shared by both Linux & Windows?

Jason Menard: Might I suggest you take the entire sentence next time so that you have my comment in the proper context
Pakka Desi: I don't have any other proof that you will possibly accept in your court
Jason Menard (while quoting Pakka Desi): I don't have any other proof
The first sentence (quoted by you)....isn't it applicable to you Jason?

Hi
Look at this code

If you want to convert from Hexa to Decimal back, use the following function
Check under the heading "Choosing Between Forward and Redirect" here

JSP
If the clusters are identical (means they have similar properties, provide similar services...), then they are homogeneous. Else they are heterogeneous.

Well, if Christianity is liberal towards alcohol and Islam prohibits it, Hinduism takes a midway between these two.
Consumption of alcohol is not totally banned by Hinduism, but it advises to stay away from it (Not a rule, just a recommendation).
Unlike Islam, Hinduism doesn't command, but rather advises.

Hi,
As per the WebLogic documentation, the value for the property weblogic.system.executeThreadCount should be set to
Number of processors + Number of blocked threads
How can I find the 'Number of blocked threads'?
I want these values from the production environment and I'm not in a position to run any profile / debugger tools and find out the value.
Is there a way I can figure it out from other means (say, from weblogic console or using a UNIX command)?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I have the follwing HTML page.

This code produces a table with 4 rows. Only a part of the table will be visible (say, 2 rows) and the user has to use the scroll bar to view the remaining part of the table.
There is also a Print button in the page which calls window.print()
The problem is, window.print() prints only the visible part of the table (the top 2 rows). I want to print the entire table, when the print button is pressed.
Is there a way to achieve this?
1. Open your web browser
2. Go to Google
3. Type this in the search box "go to hell" (within quotes)
4. Click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky" Button(Dont click on the Google Search button)
Try this and see where it leads to when u say "go to hell"
