Hi Sanjay,
I also have old SCEA certification.
Can you tell me, what books/articles/practice exams you did to prepare for this upgrade exam?

I am planning to build general business website with all kinds of bells & whistles.

I need to know, if anyone has done so, or can recommend any java app (open source or very low cost license.)

So far, I got
> Tomcat 5.x
> JSPs (+ simple includes, nothing fancy like tiles)
> Apache roller (for blogging)
> JForum (http://www.jforum.net/index.jsp) for forums.

I am still looking for simple j2ee bases helpdesk or customer support system. Ofcourse i don't have budget in grands.

I also can't claim free licenses for open source company, because at this point, i am not sure, whether our products are going to be open source or commercial.

Any comments will be appreciated.

i didn't do any detail design for this, i just mentioned in my explaination that, this kind of architecture will help in getting required response times.

Well, it is not that great score, but i am pretty much happy even to get 87%. I didn't put that much effort compare to others.

Thanks to this group, gave me lots of useful info and confidence.

I mainly, did over-all design, added 10+ classes to BDOM and 5-6 sequence diagrams. And 10+ components for component diagram.

but after reading someone's else post, i went to certmanager website and found out I got results on 04/02 itself.

Hi , I just got reply from 'SunCert@thomson.com' that i hav been given rights to uploaded. I just uploaded my assignment.

I sent mail last nite. So response time for me was less than 24Hrs.

I did call sun training also, and customer rep over there sent same mail to suncert@prometric.com.

One thing, i observed, we need to send request with our order# (order# of 250 bucks u paid to buy part2 exam. Mine is 6 digit numeric)

I just realized that, I have already scheduled for my part 3 on wednesday. So i guess, i need to cancel that appointment? (As for part3, part2 assignment should be uploaded)

Now if i cancel through their website, do my fees get refunded?

I am in same boat here. Quite relieved to see, others facing same problem. I was getting weird thoughts,, like, i might hav to give part 1 again because it's more than one yr old.

I have been preparing for scea part2, making UML diagrams.
Can somebody plz share link to some website which shows example of class/sequence/component diagram suitable for j2ee project and compliance with UML v1.x


I just want to make sure, atleast i don;t loose marks for UML compliance.

i also got confused with that.. when i read for first time.
If u look at very first statement

it means, if "time of flight" is with-in one hr window, NOT price.

prices are always flat.

We generally make one sequence for each use case.
Now if i am building one sequence diagram for one use case and that usecase includes other usecase OR it forwards to next use case, then how i show this in sequence diagram?

can anybody give me link to sample sequence diagram.. with similiar situation. or there is any such UML element for forwarding flow?

i am using UMl v1.x something.
