I think that if we should talk about it, and then I could give you my opinion/interest in that project.

I'm not a low level begginer, but I feel like a begginer.  Although I'm programming java at work,  i just do basic programs for testing and I use APIs that developers developed for testing.

I really understand what you said,  because this choice just could be done by me. You can't decide what projects fits me.
When i started this topic my intention was to receive some info about projects that people here in forum participate and maybe projects that they have and need some help.

Hello,

Thank you for the help.

I visited all the links and as I mentioned before I still have the same problem. I don't know which project to choose. The problem is that all the links say "go for one project that you used". Humm ok but if I didn't use any framework that I'm interested too contribute?
Then I went through all frameworks and projects but still can't decide because I don't know if I would like to work for that project.

So the reason I wrote this topic was to know if someone here is participating or have one project and need help in that project.

I know that this all seems probably stupid but I'm very confused to what to do now.

Best regards

I understand that open source projects would be the better way, but the problem is that I'm in a basic Java level and when I'm searching for open source projects for example in apache community, I do not feel confortable to choose one project. And that is because probably I do not understand to what and how I could contribute to it.

Hello,

I'm looking for a part time remote job/project in order to keep working and learning more about Java programming. I have some basic skills in Java, Java-FX, HTML, PHP and MySQL, and I'm starting to get prepared to take OCAJ 8 exam.
At the same time, I work as system tester for a Software defined networking project in a multinational company (For almost 1 year).

If interested please contact me and if needed I will send my CV.

Best Regards

Hello mates,

I'm writing this text looking for hints in how and what can I use for handle GUI actions or tests in JAVA.
My objective is make some actions like click some buttons but wait for some changes in GUI. And considering those changes I will take some actions over GUI then.

Basically is testing GUI. I already worked with selenium but it was for browser testing and I'm don't know any kind of library to do this in java. So that is why I'm asking for help.

Best regards

P.S: Sorry for my english

I already was thinking about it, but I think that at this moment I probably will not be a good addition.
I know how to program somethings at java but not like a java developer.

What could I do to boost my skills? Should I take some certifications? Or join some projects? I know that open source projects could be very helpful to learn things but choose one is cimplicated because those projects are specific to an objective. Am i wrong?

Hello

Well my system tester job is testing the software that is developed in my company. I'm currently testing a Software Defined Networking product developed there.

After I took the master in eletrical computer engineering with specilization in Telecommunications, I soon began to start working there. During this 9 months I just trained the software and tools we use there. In terms of java, it was my first contact with it although I already had C and C++ programming experience due to some university subjects.

I have done some projects at school but with java I have done anything in particular. But during this 9 months I tried to develop my skills at home because at work I made contact with java language and loved it. I developed some small java programs by using CodeEval and HackerRank websites, and I developed some small projects like a rest client but nothing professional. :P

At my work I basically would love to work with the development team besides of just testing what they develop. I love to go to the meetings and observe the problems that they face and the approaches they take to solve the coding problems. So basically I would love to be in their position and have the knowledge that they have to be capable of finding solutions for those programming problems.

I apologize for my English but it is a little rusty

Hello!
I need help to understand what steps should I take at the moment. I finished my master of Eletrical and Computer engineering and started working 9 months ago as System tester.
I think I already have some good java programming knowledge and I know how to use some frameworks. But now i don't know what to do...
Im currently working as system tester but I think that I don't love it. I love when I start coding but my job doesn't allow it at the moment.
I want to be a java developer and i want to improve my skills. However I dont have any ideas of what to learn or do.
What projects do you recomend? What steps?
I would love to contribute to something. I don't bother to work at home and I even could work for a project without being paid, because at this moment I feel that I need to learn more.

Could some one advise me and straight up my career?

Best regards
