hi!
i am having troble in using Tomcat
my autoexec.bat file
is
set JAVA_HOME=C:\jdk1.3.0_02
set CATALINA_HOME=C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.5
set CLASSPATH=C:\jdk1.3.0_02\bin;C:\jdk1.3.0_02\lib;C:\jdk1.3.0_02\jre\lib
PATH=C:\orawin95\bin;c:\jdk1.3.0_02\bin

when i run startup in the bin directory
the following appears which i assume means that tomcat is running correctly.
Starting service Tomcat-Standalone
Apache Tomcat/4.0.5
Starting service Tomcat-Apache
Apache Tomcat/4.0.5
but on typing http://localhost:8080
i am getting 500 Internal Server error in the browser.
i have installed tomcat4.0.5 in c:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.5 and i am on win98

what should i do

what shoul i do
also where should i place my servlets to access them as
http://localhost:8080/servlet/myservlet
the book says in the server_root/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes
directory but there is no such classes dir. in WEB-INF
should i create it.

hi!
i have installed 4.0.5
but on typing http://localhost:8080
i am getting 500 Internal Server error
what shoul i do
also where should i place my servlets to access them as

well proxy setting s r already disabled
if a try to access my servlet using
http://localhost:8080

there is again a blank window nothing appears in the browser window

and the following appears on the dos window
i assume that this makes it running correctly

[INFO] Registry - -Creating new Registry instance
[INFO] Registry - -Creating MBeanServer
[INFO] Http11Protocol - -Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on port 8080

[INFO] ChannelSocket - -JK2: ajp13 listening on tcp port 8009

still after starting startup.bat file it says:

Label not found.
i have already fixed the out of env. memory prob.
can someone help

the TOmacat 4.1 dir. is on the desktop.
and my autoecec.bat is
