I need to connect my Oracle DB to JBoss.
I have placed the class12.zip in jboss/lib/ext dir. These are the relevant jboss.jcml changes.

<mbean code="org.jboss.jdbc.JdbcProvider" name="DefaultDomain:service=JdbcProvider">
<attribute name="Drivers">oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</attribute>
</mbean>
<mbean code="org.jboss.jdbc.XADataSourceLoader" name="DefaultDomain:service=XADataSource,name=KeySequenceDS">
<attribute name="PoolName">KeySequenceDS</attribute>
<attribute name="DataSourceClass">org.jboss.pool.jdbc.xa.wrapper.XADataSourceImpl</attribute>
<attribute name="URL">jdbc racle:thin:@localhost:1521:keysequence</attribute>
<attribute name="GCMinIdleTime">1200000</attribute>
<attribute name="JDBCUser">scott</attribute>
<attribute name="MaxSize">10</attribute>
<attribute name="Password">tiger</attribute>
<attribute name="GCEnabled">false</attribute>
<attribute name="InvalidateOnError">false</attribute>
<attribute name="TimestampUsed">false</attribute>
<attribute name="Blocking">true</attribute>
<attribute name="GCInterval">120000</attribute>
<attribute name="IdleTimeout">1800000</attribute>
<attribute name="IdleTimeoutEnabled">false</attribute>
<attribute name="LoggingEnabled">false</attribute>
<attribute name="MaxIdleTimeoutPercent">1.0</attribute>
<attribute name="MinSize">0</attribute>
</mbean>

However I am getting the error
[ERROR,XAConnectionFactory] Can't get an XAConnection
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection refused(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNU
M=153092352)(ERR=12505)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12505)(EMFI=4))))
Any help will be great.
Thanks.

For Container managed beans,
How does ejbRemove() method ?
Does the interface defination go in Home or Remote interface?
Also on the bean implementation side, does ejbRemove() have any steps or is it simply a empty mehtod?
Any code snipet for home/remote/bean should help !!!
THanks in advance.
Is there any logo for a SCWCD similar to the one we have for SCJP?
I studied specs/API to get a better understanding of the classes and methods. From the exam point of view, I think you might skip the spec's/API without affecting your score.

Rohit.

Hello Ranchers,
I thank everyone involved with this site for helping me pass my certification.
The actual test difficulty level was very similar to the JWeb+ exams that come with the Deshmukh book.
A few pointers.
1. Buy the deshmukh book. I haven't seen the other one's but this one is cut to syllabus.
2. Study the spec's and API for general understanding, but no need to know each class, method in the API.
3. Give a lot of stress on memorization(book).
4. EXPECT SOME UNEXPECTED
Best of luck,
Regards,
Rohit.

Tried both of them and both of the mappings did work. I cannot think of any explaination why those worked !!!
Can you suggest a example for the 2nd one?
I can't think of one.
1. Will a servlet mapping
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>reportServlet<servlet-name>
<url-pattern>report</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
work for http://www.something.com/report?
2. Will a servlet mapping
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>reportServlet<servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/report/</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
ever be useful?
Haven't tried them.
In ref to Mannings book pg. 154 Q.9.
Why is the first option wrong ?
Thanks peter,
I tried out the examples myself and it makes much more sense on how the casting works.
Regards
If no parameter is supplied what is the output of:
<%String s=request.getParameter("param");
out.println(s);%>
You answered: A

A NullpointerException occurs
B Page compiles but there is no output
C ServletException occurs
D null is printed on screen
D is correct null is printed and the page compiles fine.
I check it and the ans is D. But I was wondering why don't I get a nullpointer exception.
Fine,
But in case rtexprvalue is not set to true, the programmer is supposed to handle the type conversion from String to ......Right?
Does the type conversion for the custom tag attributes happen automatically? Or is the programmer supposed to handle the type conversion class setXXX() method?
Clarification.
This question is obviously not from the actual exam but from one of the MOck Exams.
Can someone tell me you to make the subject change?
