Answer to Question 18 lists both A and B as a valid response: "A: Checked exceptions are allowed to be handled or declared"; "B: Checked exceptions are required to be handled or declared".

In reality, checked exceptions are required by Java to be handled or declared, so I think option A is not a valid answer here.

It might just be an interpretation of the English within the answers, but I think the point of the question is to get across the message that you *must* handle or declare Checked exceptions; "allowed to be" implies you don't *have* to handle/declare them, but you can if you wish.

A pedant would say that Q.9 Line 5 should be getWingSpan(), not getWindSpan().

I might be wrong, but I think

"...of when static *interfaces* shine..."

should be

"...of when static *imports* shine..."

given we're talking about Static Imports, and Java has a notion of Interfaces elsewhere.

Hi Jeanne

Ha - yeah - I almost raised another errata report for the same "mistake" on page 140...then I read the Java Docs and saw the constructors do indeed take nanos :-/

Hi All,

"nanoseconds" on P139 should be "milliseconds".

The text is, I believe, describing the default output precision of the Seconds value, which is three decimal points, not nine.

Chapter 2, page 55.

I think:

"...when the value on the left-hand side goes from 9 to 12"

should read

"...when the value on the left-hand side goes from 11 to 12".
