Thank you....As I do recognize the difference between car and carpet....I had no idea about the JAVA..HAHA! Very funny!!
Thank you for your help!!
So, I think it is a Java question, since I am looking for a code that might generate the process I am looking for. So the form I am using Acrobat PRO to create a PDF. It is a monster...and I have limped through and made it to the very end. It is a mess and very elementary. and way to confusing for me to explain. I will upload the PDF...and see if you can do your magic.

Once you see it I can better explain all that is going on. I'm sorry...I should mention...I do not know anything about Java!

Thank you for the add and any help!

I have a field (EMPLID) that is hidden from the form-user but I need it to unhide once the form is signed (Signature of Approving Official).   If the form was signed and/or the signature is cleared), I need this field to go back to the hidden but printable state.

I have the "Hidden but Printable" selected under the form field in the Common Properties section in the Properties General TAB.  When the form is signed by the official, I have the field unhide and locked. but if the form is unsigned, it currently does not go back to its hidden state or is locked. which I need this to happen.

The reason for this, is I do not want the user to see all the other identifiers that can be populated in this field if they were to choose another name.
On the form, as the user sees it, I have a place-holder that is just a button with "ON FILE" written. When the EMPLID field is unhidden, I have the "ON FILE" button hidden.

The field (EMPLID) is prefilled with an identifier based on a selection the user chooses (EMPLNAME). This is for reference only,

Any assistance would be wonderful!
Thank you
