WHat training and books would you recommend to those like me who are getting ready to start studying for it ?

Well ,a few of the books I read where
Sun Certified Enterprise Architecture for J2EE Technology Study Guide by Mark Cade.
Javaranch forum helped a lot.
UML distilled by Martin Fowler
Real World Java EE Patterns - Rethinking Best Practices - Adam Bein
One needs to learn UML 2.0. UML distilled by Martin Fowler might help.
Throughly understand the requirements.

I hope that helped.

Hi ranchers,
I am so excited and happy. Just received the email.

Hi Chinedu,
Congratulations! You have passed the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification. You are among the elite 1% of certified Java professionals who have gone on to achieve the Java Enterprise Architect certification.

I would like to thank all the ranchers and Ikenna Okpala for all the help and assistence.
I started the Journey on May 14 , wanting to beat the then August 1 but now October 1 deadline.
Thank God I made it.

Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for JavaEE Study Guide 2ndEd
About 3 weeks.I think.. I had done the older SCEA part 1 i.e 310-051 in 2005.
So i didn't take much for me to rewrite it .

All the best

Hello ranchers,

I passed the Part 1 of the Enterprise Architect Exam with 87%

Now I am preparing for part II .
Any tips or resources would be helpful in my preparation.
Hello I don't think that link was helpful.
Please what was the code for the older exam?
Hello ranchers,
Five years ago , I passed the SCEA part 1 exam .Over the course of time , I could not do the second part i.e the assignment.
Now i want to do the assignment but it has a different name Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam (Step 1 of 3) (CX-310-052)
and it is based on JEE5.
My question is can i still attempt the assignment i.e the part 2 or do have i have to do an upgrade exam?
I can't seem to find an upgrade exam except for those who have complete all three stages.
Or do have to write it a fresh . Seems to be a waste.
I am bit confused here.

Hi ranchers,
i just passed my scbcd with 88%.
I read The ejb specification 2.0 from sun.
and the Java certification success, Part 3: SCBCD on developerworks from IBM.
that was really helpful. It went straight to the point and i was able to cover a lot of ground quickly.i seriously encourage any one writing any sun java related exam to look at this tutorial.
Also used the EJB plus cert engine from Ethuware. Also worked out great.
Their questions were pretty tough.
Take care
