Hi everybody,
I know that Palm OS only supports MID Profile, can Palm OS support another profile, such as Personal Basis Profile or Personal Profile?...
If Palm OS can not support another profile I would like to know why Palm OS just support MIDP when due to hardware characteristics can be compared with Pocket PC handhelds which support better profiles. I think MIDP is just for cellular phones which has very limited hardware, however newest Palm OS devices can support more than cellular phones. Please, somebody help me with my question described above. Regards, thanks.

I want to introduce data using low level apis (canvas) as if this were a TextField for example... what I can do is put text using drawString but what I wanna do is capture data from the keyboard and display it at the same time on the screen (canvas). Please, somebody help me... thanks a lot.

MIDP4Palm (a zip file) that is available in Sun page contains MIDP.prc file, which is the JVM for running applications on your Palm. Double click on this and the HOtSync application will recognize this to install the next time a HotSync action is commited. In the same zip file there is an application called converter, which is used to convert (really?) tje j2me application (jar/jad) to a .prc file. Also you have to double click on this file and the same process as transfering the MIDP.prc file will have to be done.

Because of the characteristics of new Palm devices, such as more memory, better screen resolution and something more, somebody know if is possible to use Palm devices with other profile such as Personal Basis or Personal Java. I think these last are more interesting because they accept awt but this is not supported by MIDP.
I know nokia communication 9220 which support personaljava has similar hardware features than some palm devices but it seems like if there is not personaljava, or any better profile than midp for palm devices.

I have made some simple programs using J2ME (MIDP 1.0), now I wanna see these programs running in a ipaq 4350 which use Windows CE 4.2, what do I have to install in the pocket pc for running these programs?
I wanna do the same question but for running Visual Basic applications in the same device.
